I blame Wynton, what was the question?

I'm seeing them at Gamla here in Oslo for their release party on April 15. It'll be my 27th Pappzi gig.

New material is solid. They're getting tighter and more concise each day, it seems.

Can't wait to pick this up. Ever since I first heard "Farlig Vandring" after reading a thread about them here, I've been a huge fan.

Have to say that the sonics are very promising in the teaser, Udi. And now that the band's arrangements of songs appear all the more dense and elaborate, detailed attention to timbre etc. becomes crucial to the end result. Can't wait to hear the whole thing.

Yes, I suppose it must be - as their material itself is getting all the better. I remember in the early days of the band when I'd meet folks at concerts who disclaimed the alleged perfectionism or even "slickness" of the band after Anders and Jarle joined. I personally think about the whole process as one of fruitfully maturing through a quite organic evolution in sound and approach, and their recent stuff seems to retain the playfulness yet delivering an even more intricate formula of themes and melodies.

The show they did at RIO (which was recorded ) showed me they are a really good band with a real joy and appetite to play

I want really hard to like them but somehow it didn't click to me yet. What in your opinion is their best album?

Aside from two early CDRs that I don't have, they only have three albums. Personally, I think they have improved with each one, so I'd start with Astromalist and work my way back, which is actually what I did as I'm a relatively new fan.

    Thanks Bill,

this seems a good approach. I'll try to follow it.
