And, in fact, the result was that it was the officer who was investigated for brutality against Porter.

So, these arrests tell me much more about the biases of the police doing the arresting than the person being arrested.

Maybe Porter is a loudmouth. But so what? It's legal. If a cop gets in your face, you can tell him to go fornicate with his partner, and it's perfectly legal. But lots of people don't particularly care for mouthy black men, especially cops in known racist strongholds such as interior Pennsylvania, and then the brutalizing of innocent civilians ensues.

In this specific instance, Porter may well have been at fault - my only point was to show reasons to wait on coming to that conclusion.
You've got a valid point regarding the brutality of mouthy black men by police, but I also watched Porter in action in the NFL as a player and coach. I'm not going to feel sheepish by stating that I'm not surprised Porter is involved in such incidents. I'm sure he's quite the mark for other instigators as well.

I, on the other hand, will be contacting several people in Louisiana to hold a voodoo service for Jordy Nelson.

Re Joey Porter, I have seen enough of his past behavior to gather from the stories that he most probably is the instigator.
I can almost understand this by a 20 some year old player, but NOT from a 40 yr old man who happens to be a coach.
    That is unacceptable!

I would expect nothing more from New Jersey team fans

As a proud New Yorker born and raised... the knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing fanboys are one of the many reasons I hate the teams that play in New Jersey
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Caldwell’s contract extension is getting very mixed reviews here in the state, but I generally agree with you and think it is a good move. The Lions had several significant injury issues that really played into everything down the stretch this year. Although he would not admit it, it is obvious that Stafford’s finger was affecting his passing, especially in the last 4 games. Being down to our 3rd string running backs also contributed to the impotency of the offence. It is still difficult to live with the fact that the Lions have only won 1 playoff game in my 55 years on the planet, but yes they do seem to be moving in the right direction.

Were you fondled by a Giant fan as a kid or something? Everyone in this thread pretty much has taken jabs at your precious Cowboys yet your panties get all ruffled when I take one. You are Arkangel Ken (may he rest in peace) with a blue star on your silver PJ's.

Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

I'll do my best not to rub it in Sunday, but I can't speak for Gruno.

The Packers money line is paying +175. If I lay a couple of hundred, I win most of my 2017 music budget.

This year it was the Giants, but they did do their best to win the division.

And usually wild-card weekend is one of the best football weekends from an entertainment standpoint. This year the games just happened to be a bit predictable with the exception of the Pack/Giants which was the class game of the weekend of course.
Ok, then get rid of most of the division bias in playoff selection and make the playoff selection based purely on best overall record within the conference. There is still a bias because each team must play a good chunk of games in a division, but playoff qualification should be based on overall ability to play all the teams in the conference and the other conferences.
