I've seen very little info about this band but their debut from 2015 "Aedividea" is absolutely incredible to my ears. I noticed Tom Hayes gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars on Rateyourmusic. Opinions would be appreciated from anyone who has heard them.

I heard Aedividea a few weeks ago and liked it. Not particularly original or anything, but I did think it was pretty good.
Agreed, zeuhl by numbers but it scratches the itch
no tunes, no dynamics, no nosebone
Vak is in my 2015 top 20 (#15, I think), but let's face it: I got Scherzoo (#1) and Unit Wail (#7) and Magma (#14) ahead of it.
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.
Alain Lebon of Soleil Zeuhl sure nows his stuff

A.
Funny you say that because after hearing the opening track for the first time that was my thought as well, it ticks all the Zeuhl boxes but I didn't feel that way about the rest of it. I just got so excited when I heard that opening number with the Fender Rhodes, guitar, flute etc.
Some feel the flute brings DUN to mind.

The number of people in here who would even know what Zeuhl is seems to be steadily or rapidly declining.
"Improvisation is not an excuse for musical laziness" - Fred Frith
"[...] things that we never dreamed of doing in Crimson or in any band that I've been in," - Tony Levin speaking of SGM
I like it but as others have said there's nothing too different going on here.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?
There are only 10 types of people in the World, those who understand binary and those that don't.
Somehow I missed this one. On its way to me now!
Actually, that's what I like about Vak, Unit Wail and Scherzoo.... they're moving a bit away from the standard Zeuhl thing.... Just like Setna/Xing Sa is as well.
I mean for decades, Zeuhl seems to be stuck in the oppressive Magma/Zao thing (and I never thought that stuff like Dün as particularly "zeuhl-sounding", BTW) or the Shub-Niggurath sinistrous doom realm.

I suggested VAK for progarchives' database back in 2014: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/fo...asp?TID=100447
I found out about it when it came out on Soleil Zeuhl, Alain & Udi do great work.

Nothing that sets the world on fire, but i really enjoy their album.
I had it spinning in my car for some time. Some slightly Eskaton touches here and there that
I really appreciate.
New Zeuhl stuff is alway welcome at my house
New album titled Budo is ready
