If this is further confirmed along the way the moderators could remove the question mark.
A really horrendous few weeks.

Looks real - RIP.
The Eagles official page just announced it.

Surely the end of an era.
Always rated their songwriting highly...as did many, many millions of others. The Eagles had two absolute blockbuster albums, they must have dominated the mid 70s.
...the passing of our comrade, Eagles founder, Glenn Frey, in New York City on Monday, January 18th, 2016.
Glenn fought a courageous battle for the past several weeks but, sadly, succumbed to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Acute Ulcerative Colitis and Pneumonia.
The Frey family would like to thank everyone who joined Glenn to fight this fight and hoped and prayed for his recovery.
Words can neither describe our sorrow, nor our love and respect for all that he has given to us, his family, the music community & millions of fans worldwide.

WOW...just read this on another site.
67 is NOT that old....didn't know he was suffering with all of those ailments.
RIP Glen
:Loved that song he did for the miami Vice show Smugglers Blues with Joe Walsh on Lead Guitar and will be missed ...Was never a big fan but I respect his talent
I enjoyed what he did on Miami Vice... not an Eagles fan at all.
Rest in peace, Glenn.
What a nasty triple punch. I wouldn't wish that on anyone. There's gotta be an easier way out of the Hotel California. I saw the Eagles at California Jam in 1974. That was a good day.Originally Posted by Sean

After enduring Microscopic Colitis (less life-threatening than Ulcerative) with 2 years worth of well-intentioned but incorrect diagnoses and all the symptoms that go with the disease for that long (you don't want to know, trust me), let me assure you that Colitis ain't colitas, questionable pun notwithstanding.
RIP Glenn Frey. I thought you turned out to be a pretty good (untrained) actor as well.

My brother just sent me a text message about this. RIP Glenn Frey. Sad news.
My brother, my mother, my grandmother and I saw him open up for Tina Turner in 1985. I remember he did "heartache tonight" plus his other hits at the time. I remember enjoying his set.
From Don Henley
“He was like a brother to me; we were family, and like most families, there was some dysfunction. But, the bond we forged 45 years ago was never broken, even during the 14 years that the Eagles were dissolved. We were two young men who made the pilgrimage to Los Angeles with the same dream: to make our mark in the music industry — and with perseverance, a deep love of music, our alliance with other great musicians and our manager, Irving Azoff, we built something that has lasted longer than anyone could have dreamed.
“But, Glenn was the one who started it all. He was the spark plug, the man with the plan. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of popular music and a work ethic that wouldn’t quit. He was funny, bullheaded, mercurial, generous, deeply talented and driven. He loved his wife and kids more than anything.
“We are all in a state of shock, disbelief and profound sorrow. We brought our two-year ‘History of the Eagles Tour’ to a triumphant close at the end of July and now he is gone. I’m not sure I believe in fate, but I know that crossing paths with Glenn Lewis Frey in 1970 changed my life forever, and it eventually had an impact on the lives of millions of other people all over the planet. It will be very strange going forward in a world without him in it. But, I will be grateful, every day, that he was in my life.
“Rest in peace, my brother. You did what you set out to do, and then some.”
Never a fan, but he was clearly a really talented guy. Definitely a tough couple of weeks!

I could go the rest of my life without hearing that song. Today I just feel like hearing it.
Ah what a bummer. I've always had a soft spot for The Eagles. He was a talented guy. Rest in peace.
