Where are Ass Cofffee and Piss Factory?

As an Asia fan, I'm glad they made it to #81.

I've always had had an inner debate: Which is their prog masterpiece? "Heat of the Moment" or "Only Time Will Tell"?

What about Smegma? That would be a good way to round out the top 100.

Haken, a band with 3 albums, at #41? Oh well, at least IQ got some respect(although not enough).

Thank you for reminding me that Ass Coffee was a thing that existed. Best/worst (select according to taste) band name of all time!

Piss Factory? Wasn’t that a Patti Smith song title?

In a top 30 list I had expected to know all the bands, but I only know 29.

So I looked them up and realised why I haven't heard of them or heard any of their music, because their four mother bands, are four bands that I don't like in their current format and never listen to. Transatlantic!

    Oops! I meant top 20 and 19 not 30 and 29. :-)

Definitely "Heat Of The Moment." The furious guitar/organ interplay, undergirded by the constantly shifting rhythm section, builds a tension that you could cut with a knife. It all just increases and increases until the 17th minute, and when you think you can't take the tension anymore, the whole thing explodes in a burst of fuzz guitar, leaving the listener spent. God, I fucking love Asia.

The Beatles with The White Album defined music and progressive moozik for me too many tracks to give as an example on this album xx

I've been posting about them in my blog for many years. They're a progressive metal band from Australia. Like Opeth with Violin and a large emphasis on blast beats.

Camel should be switched with Steven Wilson, then Wilson should be switched with Porcupine Tree.

I'm surprised not to see Procol Harum in the list.

Kansas doesn't belong in top 20 --nor does Transatlantic---number one and two are correct---

I would say Transatlantic should be in the top 100, if it weren't for Portnoy's blue beard.

I'd say Time Again beats them both for that title.

Progressive metal has it's place in 'prog' but Symphonic metal belongs in the dustbin!

How do you 'agree' on that? Please elaborate your highly extensive answer with a most unusal level of musical and historical insight displaying a logical coherence. It'll be revealing and exhilarating to know why you disagree with just about any genuinely versed listener, as I'm sure there's a lot to learn. How is Anathema 'better than Magma'?
