Actually, the Leafs will probably be in it until the end. I've watched a few games and they're a pretty good team. They have the luxury of having 2 decent goalies.

See, I'm just having a little fun. No need to get mean.

Esther, you could always mention last night's game where the Flyers were up 1-0 with a minute to go and wound up losing in OT to Carolina.
Kidding aside, what the hell is going on with Claude Giroux??!!

No idea.
It's really hard to be a Flyers fan these days....

Nice to see some of the younger Rangers starting to assert themselves. Guys like Stepan, Kreider, Brassard all seem to be finding their ways under the kindly coaching of AV. Unlike the prickly demeanour of the guy out in Vancouver. Just imagine how much better the Rangers could be with Nash and a productive Richards. Hurry, King Henrik won't be stellar forever.
Richards has actually been the most productive Ranger this season. HUGE turnaround from last year. But yeah, it's cool to see the young guys finding their way and the rest of the team figuring out AV. The Nash situation apparently isn't good so we're going to have to rely on these players.

How 'bout this? He rips the helmet off the player, then puts it on his own head. Then his drunk-ass wife/girlfriend dumps her beer on the guy who just had his helmet torn off his head. What a couple of schmucks.
Shootouts suck.
That is all.
Agreed, Dave.

Haven't had a shootout yet, but yeah I pretty much agree. Though there is still the part of me that gets caught up in the thrill of it if I'm being honest. Sure it's a gimmick and games shouldn't be decided by practice drills, but they can be thrilling.

Why not let a tie just be a tie? Or...as we've argued here before, make a regulation win = 3 points and keep the current format. These are the only 2 viable options, imo. Sudden death OTwould not make sense during the regular season.

OK, I'm not one to brag much, but here goes:
I am a member at a private golf club near Ottawa. In the past, some of the Senators have had limited memberships including Chris Phillips. We got an email recently saying that the golf club and the Ottawa Senators are entering into a "partnership". Among the benefits being given, some of the Senators front office people will get free memberships. The only name mentioned was coach Paul (Paulrus) MacLean. Normally, that would be pretty cool, but I'm not that impressed because the locker across from mine is that of none other than Brian (Killer) Kilrea. He joined after he finally retired from the OHL as its winningest coach. There are a few other hockey notables there too including the most amazing hockey trivia person in the world - Liam McGuire.
Maybe, but they make more sense than making a magic 3rd point appear for the tie breaker. I watched hockey for years before the current OT rules and I had no issues with it.

Refresh my memory. What was the reason for moving from ties to shoot-outs?
I had no problem with ties either.
'cause ties are like kissing your sister.
^It's going to be a great race all season for the Maurice Richard trophy - Ovechkin, Steen and Stamkos are all scoring a ton.
