Again... I blame Carlyle!
In assessing the habs through the pre-season I think they're gonna be a lower echelon team, fighting for a wildcard playoff spot. In our division I think Boston, Detroit , and Ottawa will take the top 3 spots. Montreal and Toronto will be fighting with teams from the Met division (gotta get used to calling it that) for the final 2 playoff spots.

Hmmm. Just discovered that AT&T does not offer NHL Network. I hope NBC Sports will be sufficient.
I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.
AT&T must be the worst cable network ever. I've never heard so many complaints about any other provider. How can you not offer the NHL Network?

I've found them to be much better than Xfinity. They sucked. The NHL thing is the first complaint I've had.

Hockey is one sport where I don't need to order any special package to get more games that I can watch. In fact, outside of the playoffs, I only watch Habs games. I get all of them so that's 2 to 3 times per week. Plenty for me.

Two more sleeps to regular season!
We can probably get 95% of games on regular TV, but we pay an extra $10 per month to get Leafs TV. They air about 3-4 games a month. Not a lot, but my husband hates to miss a game. The sports package with Leafs TV also gets us CBS Sports which also has some good programming that we end up watching.

Yeah baby! I'm so looking forward to a full season.
Any word on if the hybrid icing sticks? I'm still on the fence about this one.

Leafs/Habs opener is always an exciting first game. I wonder if the Toronto media can keep the "This is the Leafs year" talk to a dull roar this time around. Probably not.

I'd like to be there. Does this Habs fan bring a huge, view obstructing banner along with an enormous flag (one that belongs atop buildings so you can see them from a distance) with him/her? You know, to wave wildly each time a puck is passed?

Is it one of these?

Wow. Startin' the trash talk early this year!
I really haven't been that involved in the pre-season, but I'm getting pretty stoked now that they're going to start playing real games.
I have to believe my Flyers will be improved this year and will make the playoffs, at least. Last year's performance was completely unacceptable.
Good luck, everyone!

It'll be a while before banner #25 is hoisted to the rafters, so not really trash talking...

that's a lot of banners...half of them they were still using wooden goal posts
I had actually forgotten their last cup was the year before the Rangers won it. I'd be curious to see some of those games.

That banner poster was a great response Yves! Well done.
At least I can remember the last time the Habs won the cup. The last time the Leafs won, I was only a year old and didn't even know what hockey was.
All of my trash talk is in good fun. I don't take any sport that seriously.

I have a few friends in PA who are Flyers fans. One of them likes to tease me about my love of prog rock...so I take any opportunity I can to tease him back and the Flyers are close to his heart. As a result, I tend to trash talk the Flyers just like I do the Habs. All in good fun of course.
I am really looking forward to tonight's game. I miss hockey during the off-season.
My girlfriend can't believe hockey is kicking into gear again!

This Blackhawks fan is still enjoying the glow of winning the Stanley Cup ! No matter what happens this year, the Blackhawks had one fantastic season. The NHL Network has televised the playoff games a few times during the summer, and the ending still gives me goosebumps, when the Blackhawks scored 2 goals in the last minute to defeat the Bruins in game 6.

Some interesting masks there. I love the bird cage and "the beast".
James Reimer's mask looks like a freakin' cabbage head. Probably the dumbest looking mask I've seen.
And I know there's some trash talk to be had for Steve Mason portraying the Flyers as Zombies...but I won't go there.
