Yeah that's horseshit. People can say or do anything they want anymore without any consequence. On the funnier side of Twitter though...

Maybe she shouldn't be on Twitter. You just know this sort of shit is gonna happen. Lots of angry people in the world and social media is where they feel empowered. Believe it or not folks, one can live without a Facebook page and a Twitter account. I am living proof!

I also saw a video in an Oiler game where a fan threw their jersey on the ice and Ben Scrivens tossed it back into the crowd with his stick. I believe in that same game Dallas Eakins flipped out on Taylor Hall for accidentally squirting him with water. Man, that franchise is a mess! Brian, what the hell man! I feel for ya, buddy!

some of the comments were just dumbasses who think they're funny, but there were some gems! I personally liked "If you opened a bar, how cheap would your shots be?"

The fan base is REALLY getting frustrated with the moves (or lack thereof) that organization has made. They sign their young players to huge contracts and basically do away with veterans.... They're trying to recapture that 80s team but in the age of free agency you can't build a team they way you used to. They've got some good young talent there but no Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, Coffey, Lowe, Fuhr, etc.....You'll never recapture that because that was arguably the greatest team ever. I'm not sure if that team can survive in that market. In fact I'm baffled that both Alberta teams continue to suck as badly as they do.

Well, the Leafs have slid out of the Wild Card spot. There are four teams with 80 points vying for two spots. The Leafs have fewer games left than any of the other teams (I think). We're not mathematically out yet, but it's not looking good. Especially with a 6-game losing streak shitting on the team's confidence.
Realistically, the way they've been playing, the Leafs aren't likely to beat Boston or Pittsburgh so maybe it's just better to not make the playoffs and hope that forces some big changes for next season.
I'm really not sure that I want to jump on the Habs bandwagon, but I might just have to eat crow and allow it to come to that.
If the Leafs don't make it I think Carlyle has to go. He's not a coach I'd give 110% for. But then again, I wouldn't want to play for Therrien either. I watch the 24CH program (show where they follow the Habs for the whole season) and I don't like the guy. But...he's getting results and the Habs seem to be peaking at the right time and have enough depth to overcome the recent injuries.

If you want to watch the Leafs' chances of making the playoffs dwindle, you can play along here:

Esther, I found it very difficult to cheer for Sens this season. They were so undisciplined (I think they lead the league in minor penalties), and seemingly, so inconsistent and even lackadaisical most nights. The phone-in shows are blaming the bad ending to the Alfie era but to me that's just bullshit. Picking Jason Spezza as captain was a huge error - he's just not the right guy for the job. He had such a poor season (until they brought in Ales Hemsky to play with him) that one has to conclude that the added burden of the captaincy had something to do with his lack of productivity, lack of discipline. The #3 and #4 guys on D they had pencilled in at the beginning of the season were terrible and they never found a decent lineup. The old guys were too slow and the young guys consistently made bad decisions and were give-away machines most of the season. It makes it tough to watch on a regular basis.
I will be hoping for the Sharks to win the Cup this year. They've had really good teams for many years but have never been able to climb out of the conference. Maybe this will be their year. As far as cheering for the Canadian teams, I guess it's the Habs or nothing. I don't have much reason to cheer for them - I don't really like much about them. I will be having a busy spring coming up as we will be moving house and I also hope to do a lot of golfing this season now that my health is restored (long story, happy ending I think) so watching hockey will be a low priority for me.

Holy shit! Whoever runs that site has a lot of free time on their hands...or would if they didn't run that site. LOL!

Yeah, even here in NY the winter is still hangin' on. Most of the snow (except plow piles) are gone, but its still real cold. seems towards the end of the week some consistent 50's will finally be here.
Good to hear about your health, rottersclub! Not so good about Sens though. Maybe Anderson healthy will give you an end of season boost?
Big game tonight between Rangers/Flyers! Can't wait. Teeny tiny Rangers must use their speed and keep the puck or it's gonna be a gradual beatdown. Especially now that Kreider is gone with a broken hand.

The Sens deserve everything coming their way this season. I hope that coach gets fired over this year's results. He's at best an American League coach. Totally classless guy! (yes... last year's playoffs still sting... )
If Montreal is the only Canadian city in the playoffs CBC will have to pretend that Quebec is a part of Canada, something they usually avoid masterfully!

You'll get your answer April 7.
Don't want to veer this thread off-topic...
Rangers-Flyers will be on TSN tonight so I'll be peeking in for sure. I find that the entire league has kicked it up a notch in the last couple of weeks.

Now you're making me sad.
I keep having this recurring dream that I will be playing golf with Paul MacLean some time this summer. I mentioned earlier in the thread that the club to which I belong has signed a deal with the Sens to exchange certain goods and services. Part of the deal was to give the Sens three full time memberships and one of those was identified as being the coach. What the hell do you say to him? "Nice drive" is the best I'll be able to manage without losing it!

IDK - MacLean did a pretty good job of getting under Therrien's skin and really, that was the whole point of the exercise. The rest of the province was just collateral damage. Remember, he played his Juniors in the town formerly known as Hull.
Hey, how's that #68 been lately?

I like the format. The winner of each division gets the 'supposed' easiest teams in the first round while 2nd and 3rd place in each division face off. There's a chance that Montreal plays Tampa with both teams finishing the season tied!
