Happy Family at R.I.O Fest, 2015

I just stumbled across this. Really very good for a cell phone video and it answers the question everyone asked me; "Are they still good?"

That sign makes me laugh every time I see it. I was blown away at how well my cell phone captured Stop Motion Orchestra last time I saw them play. Crazy how good this tech has become. Thanks for the links, Steve!

I had to look at youtube now, and there are several tracks from the event. So good to see they surfaced again. Nagase is fantastic drummer!
    Here is a 'classic'

I was SO HAPPY they brought THE SIGN!

I told them so. They thought it was so funny how excited I was, but I told them it stars on all their covers!

It was splintered around the edges and some of the letters were held in place with scotch tape. Road warrior!

I listened to Toscco for the first time in many years just the other day, and I can only say that this mofo monster has lost absolutely NONE of its inherent force or 'contemporary factor'. That thing was a complete revelation and catharsis when it first appeared back in '97, and I still find it fascinating how anyone even remotely taken by the idea of intricate, live action-powered *prog* could even think of passing it by. For instance, in the ongoing TMV thread here and now, the very concept of the latter even coming close to anything as profoundly orgasmic yet thoroughly sophisticated as Toscco seems all but nonsensical.

Their latest is fabulous as well, but less "immediate" in delivery. More to digest and, I suspect - in time, even more to love.

"[...] things that we never dreamed of doing in Crimson or in any band that I've been in," - Tony Levin speaking of SGM

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

Just listen to that riff in Rodrigo - WOW. This is what a lot of modern prog is lacking.

YEAH MAN!!! ...do these guys stand in the middle of a road punching oncoming cars that blow up and fly backwards when they aren't onstage?

I had bought their latest at Carmaux before their set, despite the fact that many had told me it was disappointing... But TBH, I find Minimal Godsto be almost as good as Toscco

I'll view the YT clips of their show ASAP, so hopefully maybe , it was just me that wasn't receptive enough to their show (though the smaller room is much less comfortbale)
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

I really want to, but man - 12 hour flight to Europe just doesn't sound very appetizing.

That too! And having to miss a week of school (which 2016 will likely be the last time I'll have to be concerned about that)
