    Indeed, Autumn spells melancholy ...

And a lot of Scandinavian prog fit the mood

Hybris, Vemod, Timeloss, Lonely Land, Gargamel's debut, etc...

Absolutely... Though Aisle of Plenty hints at the end of the fruitful generous season that summer is. A bit like Cinema Show is already a tad chilly, Aisle Of Plenty goes one further.
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

Definitely. The quintessential summer album for me.

    Jacob's Ladder - Rush,
A lot of Rush music takes me back to my military days in Upper Michigan.

I always associated Tull's Songs from the Wood with summer not autumn.
However Heavy Horses feels like autumn and Stormwatch winter.
It might have something to with the albums being released in that order.

And Hostsonatens four seasonal albums are great.

A Christmas album really, but it doesn't sound like one...

The 'Decameron Tales vol. 3' thread reminds me that the Decameron Tales cds are fantastic for fall/winter.

I have lots of memories listening to Rush driving to wrestling matches around the Cleveland area in middle and high school. Lots of grey dirty slush and gloom... weigh-ins. It all should have ruined Rush for me but it only made them even more endearing. haha.

Jade Warrior - Last Autumn's Dream is a great Autumn/Winter spin.
no tunes, no dynamics, no nosebone

Hung out with my pals last night....fire, food, drinks, a few joints, etc. Beautiful autumn night. We did this:

    Can
    FZ
    Opeth
    Tull
    Comus
    Storm Corrosion

Great fall vibes there. Of course I was the DJ. Great times, this is life for me. Simplicity is sometimes the best.

I'm sure someone has already mentioned this.. but when I was first exposed to the Windam Hill label it was due to seeing George Winston locally on a chilly October evening.
I went to the record store the next day and bought a handful of albums all on that label. I now have a huge collection from a variety of folks due to that one concert.

The Moody Blues' "On the Threshold of a Dream" includes that bit in "The Dream" about the colored leaves lying in the gutter (dead), so that always makes me think of Fall.

"Selling England by the Pound" has a song about cutting the grass, so that's gonna be a Spring/Summer album for me. I have cut the grass to that song many times!

Also Harmonium’s Les cinq saisons, good for all seasons, but especially fall and winter. The hypothetical fifth season, “Histoires sans paroles,” even exhibits an autumnal feel.

The debut and L’heptade also may be appropriate here. Deux cents nuits à l’heure feels more spring/summer to me, though.

This year I have been drawn back to the works of Peter Bellamy - ''Wake the Vaulted Echoes' compilation right now but 'the Maritime Suite', & 'Merlin's Isle Of Gramarye' have also had a spin
