A few few of these hit rather close to home.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

Now these ARE actually funny, in response to the person suggesting that prog fans have no sense of humour.

Just one thing: Saturday Night Fever's not THAT bad. At least half of it is good music. And no, I don't own it.

Funny stuff. Reminds me of a collector, dealer, and music authority in Rhode Island who had such a large collection that his wife said, "Either the records go or I go." He said adios to the wife.

Could someone define "boot sale" to us colonists? Is this what we across the pond call a "tag sale"?

I think the boot in this context is the English equivalent of the trunk of a car.

^^ I think in Oz we would call it a car park sale. Or maybe a boot sale, I don't know. After all, the goods are normally displayed in the boot.

Car Boot Sales are a traditional Sunday activity where people load up their old crap park in a farmers field and try and sell it. You get 40 or 50 tables set up. The boot in question is the trunk of the car.

The photo of the albums reminds me of my Dad's collection in the mid-to-late '60's. He had over 5000 big Band, Bop & Jazz LP's and TONS of 78's.....one day I came home from school and they were all gone. when I asked him about it, he said he was tired of listening to music. (I'm 10000% sure that we needed the money at the time)....but he never admitted that.....kind of sad.

Equivalent of a Flea Market here, for sure.

International Record Collecting Advanced Course question:
You show a test pressing of Pink Floyd's "Ummagumma" that you bought at a boot sale to your American friend. How much explaining is it going to take to convince said friend that a vinyl album in the trunk of a car still has value: A) Until Kingdom comes B) When Hell freezes over C) When pigs fly?
