I have tried to start a thread on neo psyche, but it disappeared after 2 pages. Once I get home, I can go through my iTunes and list a few more names. I keep separate playlists for "Heavy Psyche" and "New Psychedelic", each of which contain well over 500 songs apiece; and feature almost exclusively bands from the 21st century.

Another Athens, Ga band (and far-less publicized) from the same scene is The Summer Hymns. Also defunct but also great.

Like Mythos said, the OT wants bands at the pop end of psych...So think late 60s trippy beat-pop rather than late 60s hard/space/acid rock.

Thanks for the list. I'm more into pop psych, I guess, as I'm only 15.The avatar I use is of one of my father's favorite albums, but it's a little over my head, I think. He says that I probably like it when I'm older.
Facelift- actually, they are hardcore Byrds fans. That album does not have a bad song on it. I saw them live years ago at International Pop Overthrow, and they were standouts. Still active now.
