Cool, though I imagine there must be lots of them around.

I went to school with a Brian Wilson.

There's a jazz guitarist named Michael Gregory Jackson. He actually originally used his full name early in his career, in the late 70's, before truncating it in the 80's to Michael Gregory to avoid confusion with "that other Michael Jackson".

Which reminds me, there's two guitarists named David Chastain: a metal guy, and a blues guy.

Similarly, there's three Randy Jacksons in the music biz: there's the bassist/producer/American Idol guy, the guitarist/songwriter/vocalist from Zebra, and one of Michael Jackson's brothers.

Anbd let's not even get started on the whole Dave Stewart thing. Last time I checked there's three of them, two of which have worked with Steve Hillage.

    Bent Fabric, Danish pianist.

Real name is Fabricus or something like that. Lots of Scandinavians are named "Bent" or "Odd."

I get a kick out of the musician credits on Captain Beefheart's Lick My Decals Off, Baby. There's Captain Beefheart, there's Zoot Horn Rollo, Rockette Morton and Drumbo... and finally Art Tripp, who apparently just didn't need a stage name to fit in with the rest of the band.

    Always enjoyed these:

Dick Spring (Irish rugby player & politician)

    Randy Bishop (rock producer)

    Fanny Chmeller (German skier)

I thought Don did give Art a name, like "Marimbo" or something.

Art was credited under his real name on Lick My Decals Off, Baby, which was the first Beefheart album he appeared on. He was credited as Ed Marimba on Spotlight Kid and Clear Spot.

("Marimbo," to match Drumbo, would have been funnier.)

Does it matter that this waste of time is what makes a life for you?
