    American Horro Story - Hotel

I know there are some AMS fans here. Just had the chance to watch the premier of the new season tonight. I totally dug it. This is going to be a freaky ride this season me thinks. It was kind of like watching a David Lynch film.

Ultra-violent with some soft core porn (featuring Lady Gaga ). My wife and I have enjoyed all of the previous seasons, but I don't know if we're going to be able to hang this time around. We'll see.

This was definitely the most extreme so far. The blood and gore factor certainly seemed to be ramped up. My wife and I have been fans of the show since the beginning as well, although the last two seasons were a slight let down for us from the previous two. This one certainly held my interest, so we’ll see……

It's like The Shining on acid! I am one who was sorely disappointed with Freak Show and the ending (or lack thereof) of Coven, but decided to hang on to see what this season offered. So far, so good. Visually interesting, but the plot meanders and isn't especially coherent (not necessarily a bad thing...BUT), given the track record of poor follow through on interesting themes, I am keeping the bar low.

I didn't like the last two seasons much, but it's twisted enough to keep me watchin'. This season is especially twisted...and incredibly graphic! I'm interested and like it so far, but I wish it wasn't all about shock and more about scares. That's just me though.

Honestly this season is just a little too ... intense for lack of better word. I absolutely loved the first season and found the others decent but i don't know if I'll be able to watch this one, it's just too much!

Yeah, I dunno... I don't mind a certain amount of decadence and ick but where's the story? The films of Chan-wook Park, say, have a lot of decadence and ick but they're backed up with a ton of characterization and plot. I didn't like the last few seasons of AHS at all and I quit this too after the debut episode.

agree---liked Freak SHow better --don't know what's happening here other than shock value at this point. Sort of the Shining meets True Blood--been there done that.

I'm starting to like this season a little more, but for one thing, Jessica Lang is sorely missed! And is it in Lady Gaga's contract that she gets at least one sex scene in every episode? Not that I mind, though there's plenty of divas I'd rather see 3 quarters undressed. But she's better in those scenes than the ones where she has to act. Yeah, there's stories, lots of them, but so far it's a convoluted mess. Some other seasons have been like that and gradually tied it all together more or less; we'll see if this one does. Angela Bassett playing a Pam Grier type star was actually pretty funny; I was worried this season would be devoid of humor up to that point. I feel like the serial killer guy who built the hotel (and is now a... what? Ghost? Vampire?) is loosely based on H.H. Holmes, the serial killer who had his field day at the World's Fair in Chicago (Columbian Exposition) in 1893. He built a hotel with torture chambers too, after all.

My favorite seasons so far have been "House" (season one) and "Asylum." I don't think they're ever going to surpass them.

I think I'm done with this season. I've had about as much throat slashing/blood spurting as I can take. Even Kathy Bates got in on that action. Never really been a fan of slasher flicks and that's what "Hotel" basically has sunk to.

Just had the chance to watch the latest episode today. I am still digging it, but yes the gore factor has been a little over the top this season.
