My least fave of the Godbluff/StillLife/WR trilogy. Still occasionally give a listen to When She Comes, A Place to Survive, and my fave off the album Wondering.

I was in college when this came out and one of my roommates was a big Grateful Dead fan (not that there's anything wrong with that, I like their early years myself). He sort of hemmed and hawed his way through Meurglys for a while and said "Listen, that guy can't play the guitar. He's just having fun". I thought having fun was a worthy goal in itself.

I recently dug out VDGG's "Now And Then" compilation of odds'n'ends (on CD) for a listen.

I've got the other one with the same tunes on it. Anyway, worth it for "The Liquidator" alone:

I want to dynamite your mind with love tonight.
