I'm a bit mad, I suppose, I admire German bands, not only prog and I often hope a German soccer team wins.

Actually not. The Pennsylvania "Dutch" are German, it was the American mispronunciation of Deutsch that led to them being called Dutch.

I find it interesting that Afrikaans is essentially Dutch.

For example: The Beatles are one of the few bands where the general public could identify the name of all its band members: John, Paul, Ringo, and George

In the USA, Trailing them by a loooong distant margin would be KISS: back in their hey-dey, the general public could probably identify all four members.....and trailing waaaaay behind them, its possible that a good bulk of persons had heard the names of all four members of Motley Crue

But when I talk to folks over the years, its amazing how many people identify bands like this:

Led Zeppelin: Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, Bonzo, the Other Guy
Queen: Freddie Mercury, Brian May, the other two guys
Heart: Ann and Nancy Wilson, three other guys
Jethro Tull: Jethro Tull? I don't like him
    Toto: ???

Dont ask me why I just thought about this
I could only recognize and name one member of Kiss. I mean, I know there's the star guy, cat guy, and what...I forget the 4th. And Gene Simmons, who's supposed to be a bat or something.

I do know the names Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, but don't know which is which at all.
