Yeah, Steve. I dared. And it was glorious. You continue to promote fine fine music

Le Rex, Bjorkenheim, Pixel and Sonar for me, need to see if Thinking Plague needs a rebuy.

Since I wrote the SONAR liners, I cannot review, but I will say here that it's (hard to believe) a step up on Static Motion....these guys' concept is really evolving, so any who liked their earlier discs will LOVE this one.

the Sonar has peaked my interest
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

I'm catching Pixel's release party at Victoria here in Oslo on the 26th. They're such an awesome live band, I could only wish for more people to get to see them abroad. Or ANYTHING involving Ellen Andrea, for that matter.

They WERE! Very very different from the records, though. Thought it was time to tribute one of the bands who are currently making some seriously exciting and vital art. I'll probably make it something Necromonkey next. Or Bent Knee. My top 3 modern favorites ...

I didn't find them that different from the records, mainly missing the extra instruments and effects.

Picked up the Björkenheim, Rudolph, Sonar and the two new Soleil Zeuhl releases. I will probably pick up the Pixel and Le Rex in my next purchase. I just purchased a copy of "In This Life" literally a week before the announcement of a 25th anniversary remaster. I will probably pass on this one.

I'm still on the fence about TP. Im absolutely thrilled it's back in print (I bought it second hand about two years ago), but I'll wait to see what others say about it before grabbing the upgrade. I'm sure it's great - it's a terrific album.
