Both gorgeous songs IMO. Have you noticed that this type of songs (in good hands) are very lyrical? If they are not, I think they don't succeed in being the song of X, because they have to capture the "vibe" of X to be able to be the song of X.
To make this thread interesting, tell us if you think your choices succeed in being the song of X!
No-man - Song of the Surf. It's a nice song, but it does not particularly for me evoke the surf.
Jon Anderson - Song of Seven. Oh yeah, when I hear that song, that's all I can think of: Seven, seven, seven.
Joni Mitchell - The Sire of Sorrow (Job's Sad Song). It's pretty mournful, so I suppose it works.
Joni Mitchell - Song To a Seagull. I'm not sure what kind of song would be suitable to sing to a seagull, but maybe that one is as good as any.
Porcupine Tree - Hatesong. Yes it's pretty spiteful, so that one works.
