Thread: Prog for exercising?

    Prog for exercising?

I've been taking up biking and running lately, and I use the popular "Zombies, Run!" app for running. It allows you to put your own playlist in between the story segments, and I'm thinking there must be some good prog that would work well for such a situation. Any of you done something like this, and if so, would you mind sharing your thoughts on the matter?

I actually used to run on the treadmill to "The Gates of Delirium." It was a 15-minute cardio workout, and the buildup of the song fit the rhythm of my walk-to-runs really well. When it got to the "The Battle" section, my momentum was really up.

Can't say I actually play music when exercising, but I'd consider certain selections from the ProjeKcts to be suitable for it.

....Even the song "Deception of the Thrush" ....if you're practicing tai chi ......or maybe not.

I work out almost every day and I listen to music and/or audiobooks

The only thing I can add here is that I get a longer and better workout with audiobooks especially if its an engaging story. My recommendation is to listen to whatever excites you or motivates you.....there is no reply in this thread that will suffice: Only you can answer that one. Best of luck on your new endeavour.

I see what you did there. Actually, Magma might be a really good idea. I'll have to dig out the Trilogie set and throw it on my phone.

This will make you exhausted (which I guess is the idea of doing physical excersises) the theme changes over time, a melody strikes at 3:40 and there is a break where you can breathe..

I can't remember which record this is on, though, so this is from memory.

There's a track or two from Tangerine Dream's "exit" album that has a good beat for running. In fact I remember hearing it used on a sports show on tv back in the late eighties on running. That's when it dawned on me why they were using it in the background.

My favorite for the elliptical and treadmill was Major Parkinson's Twilight Cinema.

I was always partial to Tarkus for riding a stationary bike. 20 minutes was just about right
