Thread: Art Zoyd 44.5 Anniversary Box And Tour

    As well you should

It would take Michael Bay using his full arsenal of explosives, an Aerosmith soundtrack, and Nicholas Cage in a wig waving an American flag on a hilltop at dusk to capture this much awesomeness. It's that much.
If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

again, big thanks to those who pre-bought this, allowing us to release it and for your patience as we 'got it together' (insert mental image of alligator wrestling....)
Sometimes it pays to check PE!!

Funny thing, when I was still in school and people would ask what I did for a living, I'd say "I wrestle alligators in the gymnasium." Whenever someone would laugh I'd say, "HEY! When's the last time you saw alligators in the gym!?"

He's a humungous prick who posts album reviews and unboxing videos on YouTube. He's pretty disdainful of a lot of the things he reviews and doesn't hold back. He's been around for a long time going back to either the Usenet groups and/or the old Marillion mailing list. I've known the name for a long time. I doubt he has many friends.

Oh man, I've watched a couple of his Crimson things and actually thought he was kind of funny. Maybe I haven't seen enough of his stuff or maybe his humor is a little bizarre?

If you're in agreement with him, YMMV. Usually I'm not, but it's not like I've watched that many of his videos.

I've watched a lot of Darren Lock's videos and I find him amusing and sometimes even insightful. But he is also frustratingly dismissive of vast amounts of great music. His tastes in prog stick close to the mainstream; mostly Genesis, Yes, Crimson, Floyd, and their various offshoots. He loathes Zappa and doesn't even like Tull or Gentle Giant. No way in hell could he deal with Art Zoyd.

(The "humungous prick" designation would be better suited to the King Crimson associate who lodged an intellectual property complaint with YouTube over his Crimson reviews.)

BTW as far a Darren is concerned, essentially, If it's not British it's not progressive rock! He has pretty much stated this out right.

He's no Cardiacs fan, either. But he's not alone I guess. I find his arrogance incorrigible.

    my final pre-release update:

These are due to show up sometime tomorrow and we will begin sending them out to everyone who pre paid for them as soon as we get them and check them in.

So....REALLY soon. Thanks for your patience; I am happy to report that despite the delays, everyone who pre-paid for this has been wonderfully patient and polite in their inquiries to us about this release, and I really, really appreciate that fact. Thank you!

Now I just have to make sure Christine isn't in the house when it arrives.

Good tactic, that way the actual contents will be a relief (I guess).

Mentioning to most anyone I know that I'm psyched about digging into the Art Zoyd box would elicit about the same response I got from my cat when I tried to explain plate tectonics to him... sigh.
