    I think a lot of people assumed Francesco Zappa was a hoax, but he was quite real. Genius though he was, I doubt that our FZ could have written so convincingly and consistently in the 18th century idiom without sticking any of his own "eyebrows" in it.

    The technological barriers are too great, but I wish the compositions on Jazz From Hell could be fed through a set of modern samples. I'm betting it would really come alive.

    Zappa was way ahead of his time on this stuff, and I'll bet he'd be doing amazing things with the modern recording technology.
