Got my CD on Monday and just gave it a second spin last night. I definitely like the album, the first track in particular, though I've gotten a little distracted during both listens and I'm not sure I've given the second track due attention yet.

I particularly love the bass break near the end of the first track. A couple of things are cool about this part. First, the keyboard underpinning is great and you have to hand it to the keyboard player for being able to repeat that line so well. Second, the fuzz bass tone is awesome. Totally out of control, and yet fully under control. You can hear it just wanting to start feeding back, but it never does. The combination of these elements make this part absolutely riveting to me, a really "spine chilling" musical moment. Maybe I'm biased as a bass player, but it's parts like these that I hope for on albums, and this part delivered!

Definitely a nice package and I'm happy to have this. Wish it were just a bit longer, but there's no doubting the quality here. Looking forward to exploring more.

So, finally, here it is, the first glimpse of the new Hooffoot album, "The Lights In The Aisle Will Guide You".

Below you will find a link to an excerpt from the title track of the album. On this track you will hear:

    Pär Hallgren - bass
Jacob Hamilton - drums and percussion
    Jocke Jönsson - guitars
    Bengt Wahlgren - keyboards
Guest appearances by Samuel Lundström, violin and Johannes Tärk, percussion.
The track is composed by Hallgren/Wahlgren and arranged by Hooffoot.

The album will have four songs and a total running time of 46 minutes. The album also features guest appearances from Ida Karlsson (tenor saxophone), Göran Abelli (trombone) and Gustaf Sörnmo (trumpet).

Basic tracks were recorded in studio Big Arts, Kyrkhult, Sweden, by Harald Bauch in 2017. Overdubs were recorded in studio In-Discourse Malmö, Sweden by Silas Bieri in 2017/2018.

The album was mixed in 2018 by Silas Bieri and Hooffoot in studio In-Discourse, Malmö Sweden. The vinyl mastering was made in december 2018 by Janne Hansson, Atlantis studios, Stockholm.

The painting used for the cover was made by Swedish painter Thomas Strömdahl 1976-79.

As soon as we have finished the rest of the cover art the album will printed. No worries, this time we will most likely make CDs as well.

We will probably release the new album ourselves. However, any suggestions regarding collaborations are much appreciated. We are also looking forward to playing live again. We are willing to travel.

Thanks for your support, hope you enjoy this!

Patience, patience dear frends. It will be out on....eeehh. It will be out on the date when it is out.

    glad to see this!
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Just to give you an idea on how vinyls-only or vinyl-included releases can hurt sales

Some bands actually believe this. I say release in as many formats as possible and let the public decide, even if you personally do not like certain formats...

That's reasonable, but not when you are only going to sell 300-500 copies tops of something...

Would it be safe to assume that a digital download is then a viable option to offer in a case like this? Maybe more so than CDs at this point in time? I'd say more so than vinyl but since it's all the rage it's probably more worthwhile than CDs. I am assuming vinyl is the most expensive to produce...

Vinyl is indeed the most expensive to produce and digital downloads are the least expensive to produce in terms of a physical copy.
A digital download is always a viable option in terms of a monetary business model.

I guess you mean at the same time as the vinyl, because the first album did have a late CD-release, didn't it? Loved that one.

It's either that or I've got an imaginary CD in my player right now. Currently spinning Take five, six, seven, eight and nine. Tune!
