Jazz is to broad a category. From Louis Armstrong to Super silent, via Bruford & Gong... ?
But I guess fans of Rap, folk & Country would say the same.
I hate subscribing to that tired old anecdote: "there is only two kinds of music - good and bad" but, for me, thats actually true....
The only things I cant really get into is all those artsy-fartsy genres, anti-music, and noise-ish styles --- I don't get it, and I don't want to
Country
Rap & hip hop
Disco
What's the style called that's played by bands like Dexys Midnight Runners?
Rap and Hip Hop
Country
Modern pop
And if there were a god, I think it very unlikely that he would have such an uneasy vanity as to be offended by those who doubt His existence - Russell
Rap/Hip-hop
Country AND Western
Modern R&B
Doo-wop
Rap
Smooth jazz
Disco (except when it's played by New Order)
Today's country (fake-country pop is what it is)

Looking forward to my day in court.
Rap- never related to it, coming more from the musical/melodic side of the fence
Alt.country- like that old comment about alternative comedians being comedians that aren't funny, this is country without the tunes
Opera- can't relate to the vocal style
Overproduced dance pop- music as pure product
I don't really need any 'have you tried so and so' comments.
Anything where thumping (or OONTZ) noises and grunts or yells are the primary musical ingredients
Anything where the artist is wearing a cocktail dress or tux and is performing selections from "The Great American Songbook"
Bellowed singing in Italian while wearing period costumes
Turn on a radio and turn the tuning knob clockwise until it tunes to the nearest station playing any form of music: That
I don't really know the difference between rap and hip-hop other than I guess HH is more for dancing? Anyway, I get a headache listening to those forms of music. Can't say I'm a big fan of country although it doesn't offend me either.
I hate to diss an entire genre, but the music I consistently seem to dislike:
Rap/Hip-Hop
Modern R&B (I like old R&B just fine, though)
Death Metal or Cookie-Monster vocal type Metal
Beyonce-type pop, or anything that sounds remotely close to that-slow cheesy so called 'love' songs that win grammys.
The symph prog orthodoxy. A true blight on progressive music.Music for poofs and beta-males.
The avant prog orthodoxy. Just because you've heard and applied some modern classical, free jazz and understand pantonality does not make your band avant-garde.Nor does liking like Magma or Henry Cow over soft shit like Yes and Genesis make you a bit of an alpha hip geezer.
fuck prog. It's all a bit shit to be honest.
techno/jungle
opera
modern pop/dance/boys/girls bands
country, C&W, country rock
doo-wop
extreme metals with dumb vocals
easy-listening (whatever that may include)
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.
I can't tell the difference between Rap and Hip Hop in order to dislike them in the proper proportions.
Caribbean dubstep polka
Martian noise soul
Atlantean punk lullabies
Post-progressive retro folk
The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off
Not many in entirety, but I don't go out of my way for:
New Country - I do like some old country and even cowboy music, but all the new stuff that seems to have an award show every other Sunday night is just, torture on ears.
Pop - The Top 40 Radio kind. Taylor Swift, Beyonce, et al come to mind.
Most everything else is fair game, including Rap/Hip-Hop, Extreme Metal with dumb vocals, and the rest.
Duncan's going to make a Horns Emoticon!!!
1) music for assholes
2) anything with the note f# in it
3) boy bands
4) stuff you like
I don't think there are four genres I actively dislike or avoid. But I can safely say I will never like country or gospel music. Guys in cowboy hats singing about trucks and beer make me want to jump off a bridge. Choirs in robes clapping their hands in unison and singing overtly joyously make me want to rip my hair out.
