    New Happy The Man-related project

Those who follow Frank Wyatt through his new website received the following exciting message:

I am super excited to announce a new project with fourteen of the band members from Happy The Man, Oblivion Sun, and the Pedal Giant Animals Project. This new collaborative CD will be called Zetgeist, and will be produced over the next six months providing we have a successful Kickstarter campaign. The new website and Kickstarter will launch May 1. Look for links in next weeks email update!

    In.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.

I'm only here to reglaze my bathtub.

It's in progress, they reached their pledge goal. I thought the original plan was a December release, but I have not heard an update on that date.

Any news on Bill Brasso and Ron Riddle's health issues? Hopefully they're back to full functionality!

Frank is very actively working on the project, which is a huge amount of work coordinating with so many musicians. Bill Brasso's surgery and Ron Riddle's accident have definitely delayed things a bit, but both of them should be back to their kits within the next several weeks. Frank does send updates via email, so I would suggest signing up on http://craftyhands.net/ . For $6 a month you can be part of "backstage" and will get downloads of Happy the Man shows and other great content, not to mention you'll be supporting Frank in his creativity.

Do you mean email updates are going out more frequently than the ones to the Kickstarter backers? I last saw an email from the campaign in August...and was wondering where things were at.

    Awesome.
How's that for timing? Yes, I do think there are more updates that come through the weekly CraftyHands emails than through the Kickstarter updates, probably because some might not seem worthy of an official update, but are more along the lines of "we recorded with so and so this week" or "we finished backing tracks for this song" this week. I'm glad an update came to backers today, however.

Frank can do a lot more through this updates than through the kickstarter-page, which is a lot more limited.
The updated are not only related to this project, but also include vids from Kit Watkins, Dave Rosenthal and, like Michael wrote, Happy The Man.

Billy is one of my best friends, known him since high school. He is a phenomenal drummer, and I actually introduced him to Stan, with an infamous quote "don't fuck this up" He didn't!

Anyway, Bill though very healthy otherwise, had an unexpected heart valve replacement a few months ago (end of September), he is doing great and starting to get behind the kit again. I don't know Ron Riddle but understand he had a very serious fall off a ladder? (I think) and broke ribs and had other injuries that has possibly an even longer recovery timeline...
So though the project was originally scheduled for a December release, this indeed is one of the reasons behind its delay. But still absolutely will happen.

Frank also is responding very positively to his cancer treatments, undergoing new and dynamic treatments at Johns Hopkins, which is great news. Stan recently found he has some blockage in an artery in his neck that stems from some scar tissue from his original cancer surgery... treatable as I understand, but will take surgery and some recovery time as well... wishing my buddies all the best..

This getting old business really sucks, live life to its fullest, you just never know what it will throw at you...
