Almost as good as Roseanne Barr's massacre of it. The chick to Vince's right can barely keep a straight face.

    Roseanne's was intentional...

Neil was never that good of a vocalist to begin with, so take away pro-tools and this is what you get.

At least Vince avoided the common mistake of starting the anthem in too high a key.

Or any key, for that matter.

And to think he's made a living singing (or fruitlessly attempting to).

Right, he picked a key where he couldn't hit the low notes instead (and opted to just not sing them).

I won't bother with the video. Singing the Nat'l Anthem is difficult enough for people who can sing. Uh, yeah Vince is awful. I've been enjoying those early Motley albums despite Vince's horrible vocals. His range is terrible, and he's tone deaf. Did he ever get lucky to meet the right group of knuckleheads, at the right time, in the right place.

What's with the "aging rocker" look? Did every 80's hard rock musician get assigned blonde hair extensions, a bandana, a black shirt and a black snake skin patterned jacket? It's like the version of the aging female artist uniform of flowing batik tunic, silver and turquoise jewelry and feather earrings.

Those hair metal guys think it makes them look like "rock stars" even though most of them had only fleeting glory and will never again rise above the casino circuit.

Such is the same for many, many prog acts… Insert pretty much every other genre, also.

That photo is nearly ten years old. That being said, it's still about 15 years too late.

that's everybody's issue. I asked a co-worker what was wrong with a mullet; she said 'this isn't the 80's". style, schmyle. I see a lot of 20something guys with Rubber Soul-era Beatles haircuts. life's too short to be limited to doing what's "in style". oh well, had to vent. what happened to 'It's my life/and I'll do what I want"? oh, that was just a song.

"I'm the one who's got to die when it's time for me to die. So, let me life my life the way I want to!"

I was kinda jesting. But, I don't think it's really about the decade, or how long ago. It's more about which style held up better over the years. Just like great music. Some holds up well, some doesn't.

People can still get by with Beatle haircuts. But how many of these guys do you see walking around?

Just watching clips of Van Halen performing on talk shows the last couple days and it appears Dave has decided, "fuck it, this is my hairline, my bad spot, I don't fucking care".

If you shave your head, that's just one ball, and a cue ball at that. My hairline is receding, and I don't care. I'm thankful for the hair I have left, and will keep it as long as it lasts. My remaining time on this planet will not be wasted on vanity.

that's a good sign. Many of us have to reach that place. What talk shows? I'd like to see the interviews.
