They're coming to my town (Northampton MA) to play the illustrious Iron Horse, where I've seen Tony with band, but this type of jazz is not my cuppa, so I'm gonna pass.

Saw the Levin Brothers at the Van Dyck brewpub in Schenectady last night. They tried hard to keep to the cool jazz style, but you could feel the fusion busting to get out and sometimes it did. All 4 guys were good soloists. Pete Levin did some nice improv on organ, Erik Lawrence was good on both sax and flute and Tony played electric cello ("I'm still learning") as well as bass. Drummer Jeff Siegel played pretty straight for the most part, in keeping with the style I guess.
Overall I enjoyed a lot more than I was expecting. If you're in doubt, go.
