    Prog

I just wondered have people define prog rock I feel most bands that evolve i.e. that don't just rehash the same old stuff could be classed as progressive. what do others think

That’s probably the most accurate definition if you’re talking prog-as-approach vs. the capital P Prog-as-style: You know, multi-part epics in odd time signatures, grizzled wizards plunking down sus4 chords on ‘trons; demons, wizards and fairies prancing about and all that.

    It’s all good.

Without getting into 400 pages of highly argumentative discussion, that is all there is to prog in a nutshell.

Any chance of altering the subject heading of this thread to something more informative? Honestly, on a Progressive Music board, almost every thread is about Prog.

Something like "What is prog?" or "Definition of Prog". My suggestions.

... you jest, but sadly it seems some actually believe that way
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

funny you should post a pic of Sherman Hemsley cause he didnt only like Afro Prog and Fusion but he's actually on record as liking the all right Prog of the Brits as well
