It's been a pleasure for this septuagenarian to know you guys from not quite, but almost the beginning. I know Kay felt the same way. You guys will never cease to amaze me. "In Vaults" is no different. D97 will always give me very good memories of Kay & I seeing you guys together 5 times.

I am the past, you (collectively) are the future! I ain't too worried.

Keep climbing the ladder, Jonathan, and love to them other ones.

Thanks, Steve! I'm so glad the music conjures good memories for you.

Also, tune into Gagliarchives right now for the premiere of a new track!

The CD arrived in my mailbox today!

Haven't listened to any online samples/teasers. I like to go in fresh. Will spend the evening enjoying it however!

After 2 full listens, the first thing I came away with was that D97, unlike many, many bands we know, evolves and improves with time. It sounds like Leslie's recent off-stage happiness has made her an even better singer, if that's possible.

Stagnant and stale are 2 adjectives that imo will never be applied to this band. You can hear just how confident they are in both their writing and their musical execution. Special band.

Leslie is 6 months pregnant, so not immediately aside from a couple remaining local area gigs. However, we'd definitely like to get out there again in 2016 and will be looking for opportunities to make that happen.

Here's a great feature on the album based around an interview with me by Prog Magazine: https://www.teamrock.com/features/20...from-the-crypt. You have to register to read the whole thing but it's free and quick to do.

We're also at #1 on the Gagliarchives Top 20, so tune in tonight if you can. Reviews have been great too! Here's one from DPRP: http://www.dprp.net/reviews/201547.php#district97

And a reminder you can stream the whole thing right now at http://www.progstreaming.com/_wb/pag...97+-+In+Vaults. You can also pick it up signed and in various bundle packages at http://district97.net/store.

I completely agree with this , I just got my copy in the mail today and it is brilliant. This is a band that will be one of the great modern day prog bands before they are finished, they just keep improving with every album . Remarkable musicianship , a top quality lead singer and oh yeah , they write great songs too.

This album will definitely be near the top of my best of 2015 albums list at years end , of that I am certain.

^^^ Glad you're enjoying it! Another person enjoying it is the one and only....Bill Bruford! Here's what Bill had to say on the album:

The playing sounds uniformly dynamite and quality oozes from every pore. You’ve worked so hard on this, I wish you and the music all the success you both deserve

It really is an honor that he took the time out to listen and share his thoughts with me.

A couple other things worth sharing:
-You can stream the album in full and download it in multiple formats (including lossless) at https://lasersedge.bandcamp.com/album/in-vaults.

-We are having our Milwaukee CD Release Show this Friday, 7/10, and will be joined by the great CHEER-ACCIDENT. It's at The Cactus Club and kicks off at 9.

More details on the above can be found at http://us9.campaign-archive2.com/?u=...&id=7c58897f74

Anyone else who's heard the album, please feel free to share your thoughts!

It took me a while to get into Trouble With Machines and so far In Vaults is taking a while too. I think that's a good sign. This one seems more dense, more harmonically interesting/challenging and the instrumental workouts are somehow more elusive to me than anything I heard on TWM. Or maybe that's just owing to the larger amount of time I've had with TWM. Getting pretty comfortable with the first 4 tunes, need more time with the rest.

Another great album. With this one I am picking up a stronger mix of modern metallic elements and Bruford (the band) fusion type playing which then reminds me of Finneus Gauge. The mix by Rich Mouser and mastering by Bob Katz make for a very pleasant listening experience all round.
