I find Echolyn & Big Big Train very sincere and genuine not to mention talented as songwriters and vocalists. They would make interesting tour mates being they're so representative of their countries.

Hard to believe we're talking about the same band.

The band have posted a year-end update to their site. If you've been wondering why there has been no echolyn news in a long while, here's your answer: life happens. All five guys have day jobs, and are quite busy living their separate lives. Unfortunately, prog doesn't pay the bills. There are no real plans for activity in 2017 (other than Brett's new solo album), unfortunately. Still, it's good to hear what everyone has been up to (except Paul, who didn't write a blurb for some reason).

Great to know everyone's doing great in their everyday life but to the selfish fan in me this all points to no new Echolyn music in the foreseable future.

indeed - given how personal and heavy they get lyrically it's nice to see they're all doing well

I'm sure they're not done with Echolyn yet - hopefully they get the itch sooner rather than later

To me it still seems like the last album was pretty recent, so I wouldn't expect them to be working on anything new yet.

Brett posted some information on his new solo album and two songs are available on bandcamp
