    Ian Anderson - Homo Erraticus

I have just debuted it, it is the level of quality you would expect from this tremendous songwriter.
    Very very good indeed.

I like it OK. It's refined, tame and controlled. Nothing really jumps out at me. Kind of like TAAB2 in that regard. Not great, not bad.

    Why does he bother anymore??

    Furthermore, why did I bother??

I sorta kinda liked TAAB2, and I was optimistic that this would be better, with the band gelling a bit more, and maybe Ian giving the players a bit more room to stretch out.

Have to say, after living with this for the better part of a year, I just really dislike it. The songwriting isn't as interesting to me as TAAB2, and none of what I hoped for in terms of a bit more of the instrumental side materialized. To me, it sounds like out-takes from TAAB2, and I hear a lot of stuff that seem repetitive with that album. It's also, imo, just totally congested with vocals, and the music doesn't breathe at all.

I didn't expect a return to 70s form here or anything, I understand what Ian can/will be doing these days. But on its own terms, this album was just a fail for me in every regard and I don't like it nearly as much as TAAB2. If anyone wants a copy cheap, let me know.

Pretty much my thoughts as well.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

Never let good music get in the way of making a profit.
