Anthony Phillips - Wise After the Event

Just another lovely record from the Ant man. The opener "We're all as We Lie" just kicks it into the gorgeous landscape that Anthony takes the listener on.
The melodies, piano, and Ants innate 12- string ability to mesmerize makes this another winner from the one of the original members of you know who...And of course, Michael Giles
fits in perfectly on the kit.

Great album! My favourite remains Private Part and Pieces II: Back To The Pavilion but I love this one too!

Yep! Wonderful record, and I think every bit as good as anything Genesis ever did.

Love this album. But then, I'm a huge Ant fan!

And another excellent entry in the 2-disc reissue series from a few years back.
Interviewer of reprobate ne'er-do-well musicians of the long-haired rock n' roll persuasion at: www.velvetthunder.co.uk and former scribe at Classic Rock Society. Only vaguely aware of anything other than music.

Yes, the sound quality is better and the extras are revealing.

Ant is one of my favorite musicians.

Pulling Faces could have been a Genesis song in 1978,brilliant tune. Will this ever go 5.1?

Cherry Red seems to be very aggressive with planning releases from their newly-acquired artist. Since they are bringing out a 5.1 package of "Geese..." and also put out the 5-disc compilation, I wouldn't be surprised if they move through his catalog and do some more 5.1's.

    But what do I know?

Ah, beautiful album-my favorites are Birdsong, Paperchase and Now What? Love the sound of the 2-disc remaster.

"Now What (Are They Doing To My Little Friends)".... Wow, still an amazing beautiful, sad song. Strangely enough I hadn't bought this on LP, although I bought almost all of his early albums (including those lovely PP&P). Well, my brother had it, so I could play his copy on and on and on. I really love to see a book on the covers of Peter Cross.
