    "Minstrel In The Gallery" tour?

Was the album ever properly toured? I've been checking http://www.ministry-of-information.c...etlist/75b.htm and it seems that the tour after the album release was almost just a continuation to a "Warchild" tour with only "Minstrel In The Gallery" added to the setlist, and they ghad played the song (or parts of it) earlier too.

Does anyone know why the album wasn't as promoted live as "Warchild"? Had Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond given his notice earlier and Ian decided to start from scratch with a new bassist. The title track worked great live but why didn't they try for example "Cold Wind To Valhalla"?

It seems this was basically treated as a solo album (which it, in some way, was), and indeed very little of it was played live.

I'm not familiar with Tull history. Was MITG supposed to be a solo album ?

No, but a lot of it is, because much of the band were goofing off and playing tennis while Ian was recording.

    "And it seems there's no-body left for tennis; and I'm a one-band-man."

(Not sure if this line directly relates to that or if it's a coincidence. I'm guessing it isn't.)

Or they needed to kill time because he wasn't calling them in?

I'm confused. Is SW doing Minstrel next?

No...The footage of the Minstrel show in Paris of the tour is being remixed/remastered by jakko jakszyk

I still haven't read anything about a Wilson-mixed 5.1 Minstrel. It could well be that he's done the Tull stuff he wanted to do now, I'm not sure how deep into their catalogue he goes (he stopped after only two ELPs). But I've still got my fingers crossed that it happens.

As for the video footage, that will be great too of course!

According to a recent interview Anderson did with a German magazine both would like to go on with the JT catalogue.
Wilson just doesn't have the time to do so, so Anderson looks for other guys to go on.

You'd think if he had time for the lackluster "War Child" he would have time for the superb "Minstrel in the Gallery."

I like War Child more than Minstrel but I understand that I belong to minority in this.

I'm with you too. The title track of "Minsterl" is a killer and I like the acoustic solo tracks but only other noteworthy song is "Cold Wind To Valhalla". "Baker Street Muse" has never grabbed me and "Black Satin Dancer" is ruined by the ugly sounding flute "impros".

Is that Paris footage of a full show? If this is footage that's been around for a while I'm not sure I've seen it. Of course if it doesn't include a lot of Minstrel then maybe I have.

This is a holy grail film, no one has ever seen it, apart from a few minutes of MitG.

You get Ian with the cod Piece and Jeffrey jumping around in a Zebra outfit
