    Tonight's menu:

    NP:

3rdegree -Ones And Zeroes Vol 1 This is a really fine offering by one of our best current bands. I described their sound to them as "A loose Yes framework with Beatlesque harmonies laid on top" which is a loose descriptor of their sound. They're not reinventing the wheel, but if you like Progressive Rock in that 70s furrow, you really need to check these guys out. They're excellent.

Phideaux -We Only Have Eyes For You An EP, which is supposedly by rumor a precursor to a new Phideaux album. If so, it's a bit disappointing. I'm a big fan of the last 3 Phideaux albums, but this sounds a bit closer to what came before those 3. Still, it's only a small taster, and the new one may also be stellar.

Robert Webb -Liquorish Allsorts An album by the keyboard player of the band England, best known for the Garden Shed album. It's keyboard-centric, as you would expect, and is a bit of a hodge podge. Somewhat unfinished sounding instrumentals sit side-by-side with vocal tracks which sound more finished to me. There are 2 or 3 tracks which sound like they could have been shorter tracks on an album similar to Garden Shed, and some full blown orchestral tracks with female vocals. At the end, it's a nice enough album, and probably should be purchased by fans of the Garden Shed album, but as a stand alone, it's not essential.
