Hiro Yanagida -Hirocosmos
The Yanagida was an instrumental album with hints of Prog-Rock, Jazz, and Lounge. OK, but didn't bowl me over on the first listen. SF is supposed to be Far East Family Band related and does sound like it. Well worth having, but not on the level of The Cave Down To The Earth. Shinsekai was (mostly?) instrumental and quite good. Chaos Prog-Rock at times (no, that's not a real subgenre or even a Progarchives subgenre) and inventive and attention-keeping throughout. The Yonin Bayashi is kind of what one would expect from 70s Japanese Prog-Rock and is excellent. If you are a fan of any of the albums by Vermilion Sands, Mr. Sirius, Magdalena, August, etc you really need to pick up the Theta CD. No, it's not quite as good as Mr. Sirius or Vermilion Sands, but it's ploughing the same field and is excellent. If you like those bands, you need this.
