Owl Sevice -Tracing Patterns An EP that works as a companion to their last and final (so they say) album His Pride. No Spear. No Friend Mostly instrumental interludes, bookended by 2 songs. For completists only, or those wanting to combine the last album session into an intended but abandoned whole.

Steely Dan -Gaucho Not their best by some margin, but still OK.

Konchordat -Rise To The Order The 3rd album from the duo previously known as Arque. I enjoyed the first 2 albums, firmly in the so-called "Neo-Prog" style, but this is a bridge too far. Every song is a swelling attempt at...an anthem? I don't know. Way more AOR than Prog-Rock here, and the compressed production leaves no dynamics whatsoever. This is big sounding, shouty, at times reminding of 80s Bad Company. I root for these guys, so hopefully they'll right the ship and get back to a more varied Prog-Rock sound, but I can't recommend this at all. Avoid, sadly. Very, very disappointing.

Calliope -La Terra Dei Grandi Occhi This is very good. Without looking anything up, I recall this as an early 90s release that I didn't buy at the time. No date on the booklet/tray card, so...Anyway, this is really very good in the classic Italian Progressive style. Nothing groundbreaking, but another log on an already spectacular fire. Well rcommended.

Ain Soph -Quicksand: Special Live Volume 3 A nice instrumental Prog-Rock album, vaguely reminiscent of Camel.

Best disc of the night was the Calliope.

Edit: The Calliope is from 1992.

I was riding the trolley to work today and heard in one the stations a busker playing sax sounding like a Moondog song. Inspired me to play an album or two of his.

Dark, slow, gloomy instrumental music. I love it.
