Tonight's menu was recent (after a fashion) Italian Prog-Rock...

Posto Blocco 19 -Motivi Di Sempre A modern release by a 70s band who never released an album at the time. This is high grade 70s style Italian Symphonic Progressive Rock. I know Symphonic Prog-Rock is a bit out of favor on this forum these days, but if you do like the style as I do, this comes well recommended. Very, very good album.

RanestRane -Shining 2CD Modern Italian Symphonic Progressive Rock. This one incorporates some classic English Prog-Rock sounds with their Italian influences, and even throws in a dash of German style vocal weirdness at one point, and there is a good bit of narration on this one, giving it a little cinematic feel. A concept album as far as I can tell, this is a very nice album, and recommended to fans of Italian Progressive Rock. Not great, but good.

Inior -Hypnoteromachia I have to give a thank you to Svetonio for this one. I ordered it after hearing it in his bandcamp thread. Seems to be generally considered as "Neo-Prog," and I'm not the best judge of that term, but there seems to be a lot more going on here to me. I suppose it's still Symphonic after a fashion, but lacks the AOR component that I usually associate with so-called "Neo-Prog." Anyway, it's an excellent Prog-Rock album, and I think many here would dig it. Very, very good.

The Samba is a Hundred Years Old!!

Happy Birthday to the brasilian Samba!! Just 100 years passed since the first Samba song officially recorded!

Here goes my homage, with all my heart:

Paulinho de Viola - Coracao Leviano/Ta Legal

Congratulations Paulinho da Viola!... As always usual from you, an original , passionate performance of the National Anthem you presented yesterday! Easily one the highest moments of the whole Olympic Games' Opening Ceremony!!

Clara Nunes - Conto de Areia

RIP Clara Nunes! I LOVE YOU!!
