Go Zune. Much better than Sandisk and some features that iPod doesn't even have (FM radio!) OK, the software sucks donkey balls but so does iTunes and at least with Zune you don't really have to use it.
And the Zunes got discontinued 3 years ago.
So what you think? You think everyone is using their phone these days for portable music? I'm not.

I blame Wynton, what was the question?

I love my ipod classic and it's really sad that they discontinued it. IMO, as far as media playing is concerned the only thing the ipod touch/iphone does better is video.
I've got a Sandisk Sansa Clip+, and I happen to like it quite a lot. I've owned three mp3 players, and this is by far the best one. I got a 4gig model, but I've gotten a 32gig memory card for it, and was up til 1:00am one day last week, loading it with music. And so far since getting the memory card, I've kept it on shuffle mode. I kinda like the combinations of music it comes up with, in fact, I've been making up a playlist based on some of the things that come up in shuffle, so that I can play them on my show.
So I finally got around to formatting the card and all that. Plugged the card first into the mp3 just to see what would happen and it works fine. Didn't have to do a bloody thing.
Technology. It works when it wants to, I guess. Wouldn't work for months but now everything is hunky dory. Ok, whatever.
I even found a Magenta video in there. I have no clue where that came from as I had never even heard the band before that. Nice tune too, Broken. Which aptly describes the cd player in the car so it will be nice to have this thing working again and I can listen to some music. I have quite a bit I'd like to check out but haven't. My sound systems in the house kinda bite so I don't listen to much here.
Yay.

I don't see the problem of shuffle, to be honest. After all if you see a band live very few play an album in its entirety from track 1 to the end, and neither do radio stations.
If I'm listening at home I'll listen to full albums, but on the move? More often than not shuffle mode.
Lollers. I used to go to sleep to Too Dark Park (because it was such a constant barrage, other than the beginning of that one song in the middle, which would wake me up so that I could go to bed. Worked just as well as Waiting for Cousteau.
rcarlberg: Is there anything sadder than a song that has never been played?
Plasmatopia: Maybe a song in D minor that has never been played?
bob_32_116: That would be a terrific triple bill: Cyan, Magenta and Yello.
trurl: The Odyssey: "He's trying to get home."

When listening in shuffle mode, what I do is to add my whole music library to AlSong playlist, but my computer starts to work very slow. How can I solve that problem?
Here are four words.
Plus two.
HuGo"Very, very nice," said a man in the crowd,
When the golden voice appeared.
She was gold alright, but then so is rust.
"Such a shame about the beard."
