Any piece of electronic music that was conceived with the intent of being heard in surround sound. Stockhausen had a number of such pieces, like Song Of The Youths (though apparently the only tape of the surround mix is a moribund format of which no functioning playback machines exist), Hymnen, Sirius or the piece he did (I've forgotten the title) for the three orchestras which are positioned in a horseshoe pattern around the audience.
I know Wendy Carlos said once that Sonic Seasonings was supposed to be heard in quad, but Columbia punked out and refused to issue the album in a proper quad mix (preferring instead their own "pseudo-quad" format, which Wendy found unsatisfying).
Welcome Back My Friends To The Show That Never Ends might be good to have in surround sound, since apparently that's the way ELP intended it to be heard, to the point of there never being a proper stereo mix done of the full album.
There's other electronic music pieces that I'd like to have in surround sound, though I think at least some of them (like some of the Subotnick and Xenakis things, I think have been issued on DVD in that fashion, I just haven't heard them yet).

Wait, what?
A Wizard, A True Star. Surround is probably the only way that acid trip of sound would make sense *lol*
Kind of surprised by all the votes for UK's debut. I always thought that was the most sterile of productions...
Yep, some TD would be good, and those are two greats. I've always heard that some of their albums, particularly the ones recorded at the Manor, suffered from less than optimal recording, and no masters. Krautrock in general hasn't received much 5.1 treatment come to think about it.
For sure, he's work is so pristine, and Crime is one of the best.
"Always ready with the ray of sunshine"
Gong's You - "A Sprinkling of Clouds" especially would be glorious in surround!
Any of Klaus Schulze's greater releases: Timewind, Moondawn, Mirage & "X"
Van der Graaf Generator's Pawn Hearts
Roger Waters - Amused To Death
JG
"MARKLAR!"
Should be released "soon": http://www.brain-damage.co.uk/latest...r-delayed.html

Seriously! James Dashow had a bunch of pieces that were of the ilk, "piece for <...> and computer generated tape" -- it would translate so perfectly to surround -- the 4 channels generated by computer could go to FL, FR, SL, and SR, and then the remaining instrument (voice, violin, trumpet, etc.) could go in the center channel...man, that would be perfect...
I second all the electronica suggestions, especially those for which there should be 4.0 masters, such as Mike Oldfield's Boxed...Tangerine Dream...Jean-Michel Jarre...Kraftwerk (yes, even the older Krautrock stuff would sound awesome in surround, especially 1 & 2)...Klaus Schulze (X, Mirage, Dune, Dig It)...
And can I add Talk Talk's entire catalog, but especially Spirit of Eden.
Wouldn't mind hearing Rob Dougan's Furious Angels or Matt Elliott's The Broken Man or Howling Songs.
