Thread: New Goblin album pledge thingy

    New Goblin album pledge thingy

    Goblin (the BackToThe version, not the Simonetti one) has a new CD coming. Looks like a Kickstarter-esque fundraising thingy:

    Happy pledging!
    If you're actually reading this then chances are you already have my last album but if NOT and you're curious:

    Always a good Thing to have some more Goblin.

    I think the album is almost finished by now, so I'm suprised they start this so late now.

    For those that might still be interested, but haven't hopped on board yet: http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/goblin

    Looks like they are around 3/4 of the way to their goal, with about a week and a half left. This isn't Kickstarter, so I'm not sure what happens if they miss their goal. Based on their site, the album is happening regardless.

    I am going to politely ask you never to use the word "thingy" in a thread title again or you might find yourself using a Styx album cover as your avatar. Capeesh?

    Ok, Doohickey.

    These guys are certainly making great strides to fund their retirements, what with three or four US tours in the past couple years, lots o merchandise and now a Pledge campaign. Good on them.

    Hi again;

    Goblin has posted an mp3 sample of a (nearly 100% mastered) track from their new album, available for folks who backed the campaign:

    http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/goblin

    To my ears, it is quite good, and very much "that sound" that Goblin does rather well (arguably, it sounds even more akin to Goblin than the BackToTheGoblin album from some years ago).

    Pledge campaign is still ongoing, hopefully it'll eventually reach its goal...

    Can't wait to hear the finished product. The sample sounds like they're going for more of a Fantastico Viaggio vibe this time rather than Roller/Zombi. Either way is fine by me.
