I could definitely get behind that, but I won't really complain about his preference for lyrics either. It's just what he does. I can admire the ambition in terms of concepts & ideas, regardless of what anyone thinks of the results in musical terms.
It's the kind of thing that's really hard to get right, but can be quite powerful in the right hands. I have a hard time imagining anyone doing a better job than Warren Zevon.

Living In The Past
TAAB2 and H.E are like empty shells for me: even after repeated listenings I still can'find anything remarkable or strong enough to be remembered. I.A should go back to full instrumental/orchestral compositions like Divinities (Twelve Dances With God) which (IMO) was his best solo work which I still listen and enjoy . Paraphrasing F.Z: Shut Up and Play Your Flute
I am completely late to this party (er, bloodbath judging from the comments). I have been listening to this release for the 1st time today and I am really liking it. Sheesh,... what's not to like here?!
Strangely,.. I feel I have been quite the devil's advocate of late round these parts. I must be outgrowing my tendency to be a people pleaser.
Ian Anderson = Artistic Musical Integrity
Genuine prog album from back in the day! - *free download* : masquepremiere.bandcamp.com
This one sounds too pop for Ian. Too much influence from his new band I think. Bring back barre, noyce, giddings and perry and Tull
