I recall how big it was at the time. I don't think it holds up at all. Really lame, IMO.

Sorry, but I, too, often got her confused with Bailey.

I read "way back when" that she was dropped from the show because she was a bit too critical of the star & some of the actors. She was also a bit of a free spirit...

I thought you were referring to Mrs Krabapple from The Simpsons...

RIP Julie... Maybe it was one of her famous tuna casseroles that did her in!

sorry to hear that. I can't tell her from Jan Smithers. Both were easy on my eyes.

It's quintessentially "70s" and you can't take it out of that window.

I've seen a few reruns recently. It was great back then, today I can barely sit through it. Kaplan isn't funny at all to me. I honestly can barely sit through a lot of those old sitcoms today.

Hate to admit it but I pretty much thought WBK was one of the worst shows of all time back when it was on. Age has not helped. Marcia was the only highpoint.

Nope, there's a "garden" hose variation. There's also a "computer hose" one, too! Only on WBK.

RIP to a beautiful intelligent actress. To me, she was the best part of WBK.

In regards to her and Jan Smithers, when the RIP thread started on Metafilter, at least ten posters all felt um...equal attraction to Julie Kotter and Bailey Quarters.

I too confused her with Bailey from WKRP (whom I preferred to Loni Anderson) Both women had that '70s Covergirl in bluejeans sensibility.

and yeah, I'm with a couple of you in sentiment regarding WBK. A lot of kids loved that show in my school and I thought it wreaked. Its getting re-run on MeTV (a staple of my wife's) and its brutal to watch now, even in the context of '70s shows. It's like one of those SNL sketches that come on in the third segment that just go nowhere and die a silent death, except that WBK managed to stretch it out to 20+ minutes an episode for several years. Its probably the beginning of TV catch phrase driven sitcoms though.
Compact Disk brought high fidelity to the masses and audiophiles will never forgive it for that

I don't recall that at all, FWIW.
