New PFM Project 'Il suono del tempo'

To celebrate the 40 years anniversary of "L'isola di niente", PFM have recorded an incredible live album, where they play the original LP tracklist in its entirety for the first time ever. This energetic new version also includes the 1st track choir incipit and the instrumental "Via Lumière", which have never been played live before.

Released in CD format, "Un'isola" is part of a series which includes the first PFM's five albums reproduced live, to be collected in an elegant box called "Il suono del tempo".

Anyone know if Flavio Premoli is back?

I haven't heard anything to that effect but that would be GREAT news if so

One of the best and most under rated of the genre IMO

Looking forward to hearing this one

The album definitely has an unusual combination of styles /approaches. Interested to hear this.

    absolutely!

I wish they would have done the first 2 before this
Is My Face On Straight makes the album slightly less than perfect
Why is it whenever someone mentions an artist that was clearly progressive (yet not the Symph weenie definition of Prog) do certain people feel compelled to snort "thats not Prog" like a whiny 5th grader?

Aereostella/ Di Cioccio knows how to milk something like this. So my guess is a DVD of some sort in the future as well. Keeping fingers crossed!

So do we buy each of the five CDs separately and add them to the collector box? How does this work?

I wonder if they will be playing the albums note for note, or extending them the way they did when they played them in the 70s. Generals and Dove... Quando would exceed 15 minutes.

Either way, this is pretty cool news

Dunno, but I think one of them actually comes as a box so you can add the rest?

Possibly... I guess we'll see! I'm not ordering from that link unless I have to, as the total cost is over 35 bucks to Canada. I'm assuming the usual vendors will carry it, along with amazon and the like. One way or another it will be mine!

Just ordered this since I was grabbing a couple of older RPI titles. I'm not thrilled by the expensive shipping, but oh well....

A mere $6 for the MP-3's of this on Amazon

This is the 98th PFM title in my library, (includes boots), but looking forward to breaking the century mark with the future ones

I will listen and comment over the weekend
