"Paul, the Great Death Hoax" in Western Washington

I'm bringing this up primarily for the other PE members in Western Washington state. I was in Yelm last week and while sitting at a stop light glanced over at the Triad Theater and saw a poster advertising a show called "Paul - the great death hoax" (or something like that). Apparently, there's going to be some kind of presentation sometime in November where all the "Paul is Dead" clues are discussed. I love the whole Paul is dead thing and spent countless hours when I was a kid pouring over all the album cover clues and playing records backwards...I even remember seeing the 1969 F. Lee Bailey tv show that laid out all the clues as "evidence" in a courtroom setting. Anyway, tickets are $10 and I've checked the November calendar for the Triad theater but it doesn't seem to be scheduled yet. When it happens I'll be there dressed in my walrus costume

I thought that was going to turn out to be a band name.

I'm still intrigued by that whole thing, whether it was an intentional hoax or not. I have always thought that it was John, having at us.

I think the boys were definitely in on it and dropping clues because it was amusing. Some of the clues are pretty far-fetched and I think are more a case of revisionist history or re-interpreting the facts to support your conclusion (like 'Paul is the only one on the Sgt Pepper's cover holding a black instrument'); but some were clearly put there by the band to be provocative and support the myth ("here's another clue for you all, the walrus was Paul"). I do believe that if the 4 were actually "in on it" that they all agreed that no matter what would happen to them after the Beatles ceased to be that they would never admit to the hoax

    Never heard that one.

Yeah, I think they had some fun with it. But I wouldn't say the were in on it.

Some great Beatles lore, for sure.

"The Walrus Was Paul" is my fave book on the subject and is a ton of fun for my fellow Beatle maniacs

Remember it vividly...When I was a kid there was a "Paul is Dead" radio special on a NYC radio station. Scared the crap out of me. Fun stuff.

So I contacted the Triad Theater directly to find out exactly when the show will occur and got this email back...I'll post back when I get a firm date. A splendid time is guaranteed for all

    Hi Dennis!
This is Jayne from the Triad. My manager was the liason attorney for the Beatles in the US. I am getting some special
updates from him as well as getting Joel's take on this. There is rumor that there is a documentary paid for by George Harrison
in his will that speaks of what really happened. The documentary is out in Europe but not allowed to be sold here.
I am waiting for response on sources who are going to send the documentary to us. So it will be in November but
i think toward the end. Hang in there! I am so glad you are interested!

It'd be fun if Sir Paul popped in.

He'd have to wear this shirt

He should walk in barefoot and out-of-step, wearing a grey suit, smoking a cigarette and with his back turned.

Don't forget his suit should have a black carnation while he carries a black piccolo
