Here is the link to our interview show on House of Prog .... https://www.mixcloud.com/marty-dorfm...rog-6-26-2015/ it's pretty long, like 2 hours and 20 minutes, but it is a pretty good inside look at who we are, what we're about, how we made our albums, and a complete presentation of the music of Travelog. Hosted by Marty "The Prog Doc" Dorfman, and includes after us some new music by Tiger Moth Tales. Get back to me if you do listen. bigroad3@gmail.com or on Facebook. BTW we have sold out the small inventory at CD Baby 3 times now and they are starting to ask for bigger quantities. Melodic Revolution also has it, Syn-phonic and Kinesis have it. THANKS MARTY!

"Good things come to those who wait", "Patience is a virtue", "All in good time".

OK, now no one else has to use those cliches.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy, Mike!

I just realized something! I love the music (I hadn't said that yet).

Well, the reviews have started to come in for Travelog. All positive, ranging from good to great. I'll try to have links for you soon but I'm just too tired tonight to set them all up. But for starters, we have 18 ratings on Progarchives. Nothing less than three stars, a few five stars. Hopefully somebody on Prograchives will do a review. http://www.progarchives.com/album-reviews.asp?id=49604

OK friends, here is an extended list of reviews for Travelog. If you have been on the fence about buying it I hope these will persuade you! We have been getting regular restock requests at CD Baby because they are stocking Amazon, sold out Kinesis once, and got some new distributors in the U.S. and Europe. You can link to everything at www.facebook.com/kineticelementband. Just scroll down till you get to a distributor you like. There ARE some things in the works. I hope they all pan out.

Thanks to everyone for supporting us, for the wonderful notes and comments that tell us we have touched your musical nerve center with this record. I expect we will be back to work shortly preparing to play out and get some new music together. I will be at Prog Day with plenty of merchandise. Prog Lives. It keeps us young.

I guess we can let the cat out of the bag since Michel up in Quebec has posted on the website. We are the first band on Sunday for next year at Terra Incognita! Our first festival on a main stage after doing the Prog Day Pre-Show twice. What else might happen between now and then! http://www.terraincognita.quebec/english.html
Keep an eye on this because the lineup is pretty awesome.

Oh yeah, sales of Travelog ... well not exactly Billboard Hot 100 numbers but steady and we are profitable on the album. Who'da thunk it?

    Hey Mike,

Have you seen the review in the latest issue of Progression? 4 out of 5 stars! Good show, young man. By the way, you'll love doing the Terra Incognita show. I went two or three years ago with the Geezer. We had a great time. Quebec is a great place and the venue, an old church, is wonderful.

You guys may already know about this from the ROSfest Facebook page and website. But, the other cat is now out of the other bag. KE is very happy to announce that in addition to doing Terra Incognita on May 22, we will be appearing at the ROSfest Saturday Night Afterparty on May 7. It promises to be a challenging month with a whole lot of travel and not a whole lot of money, but we are stoked and will be getting into full blown rehearsal mode shortly. We are very thankful to George Roldan for giving us a closer look this year with the critical acclaim that was given to Travelog. For those who follow these things, we have commitments from Dimetrius LaFavors of Odin's Court to sing lead vocals at ROSfest, and solo artist Mike Florio of the Cprog Mass Dream Project to sing lead vocals at Terra incognita. No we still do not have a permanent member lead vocalist, and we continue to look for one, but at least we know we will have excellent lead vocals on these shows.

You probably know that I have been wanting to play a festival for a long time. You can imagine at age 63 how relieved I am, with my liver condition, to finally be playing two of them after waiting ten years for a chance.

Todd, Michael and I have started working on material for a followup CD, and we expect Mark to be joining in very soon. We look forward to seeing you all in May!!

Looking forward to it, my friend!

Ok Geezer. Now since you've been to so many RoSfests, how about some AMAZING advice on how to get the BULK of the "main stage" RoSfest fans to not go to a bar, or a late night battlefield visit and come to The Aspire on BOTH Friday for 3RDegree and Saturday for Kinetic Element. Thoughts?

    RJ -

The afterparties are usually quite well-attended, relatively speaking. I would guesstimate that between 30-35% of all RF attendees make it (about 250ish), at least for a while, particularly on Friday night. In addition, some people who weren't at the Majestic (or at least weren't watching bands) often show up to see friends & hang out.

Mike & KE (or any real band rather than jams) playing Sat night is a first. By Saturday night, Mike the human billboard (said with love, Mike) will have probably reached out to every last attendee. So, the first thing I'd do, as soon as you see him on Friday, is ask him to add 3rd Degree to his billboard on his meanderings.

Lou isn't kidding about Red Bull & N-Doz. There are several people who otherwise lead at least quasi-normal lives, that at RF will party until 5:00-6:00am, sleep for a couple of hours (or through the 11:00am band if they really partied), and then do it all over again twice. Not me anymore.

Seriously though, it's all in the word-of-mouth marketing, and not just at your merch table, that could impact afterparty attendence.

Thanks Geeze. 3RDegree regroups tomorrow and we will discuss our plan to make things interesting-or at least to what degree we will add or change songs from our Sept-Nov tour.

Hi everybody. KE is pretty psyched, and excited too, to be playing two festival dates in May, our first opportunities to do ROSfest (May 7 at the Afterparty at 11:30 p.m.) and Terra Incognita (Sunday, May 22 at 4:30). It's a lot of travel for us old road dogs but we've waited ten years, and our only festival dates previously have been two times at the Prog Day Pre-Show which of course is not the actual festival. We promise to leave it all on the stage and prog out with all we have. Joining us on vocals for ROSfest is the amazing Dimetrius LaFavors of Odin's Court (for whose talents we have rehearsed a super secret cover song to close out the set) and for Terra Incognita our friend, colleague and brother Mike Florio will be handling the vocals. We just got word that at Terra Incognita the Sunday show is sold out, which means double the fun for us and hopefully for the audience! Sales of Travelog have tailed off after eleven months but there's around 700 copies of it scattered around this island Earth, and we will be bringing more to continue its dispersion. We'll also have some Powered by Light and Starship Universe, some KE T-shirts, and a few freebies to throw into the deal if you favor us with a purchase. We can't convey properly how thankful we are to George at ROSfest and Michel at Terra Incognita for giving us these oppportunities. We hope to see you at one, the other, or both. PROG LIVES. It keeps us young. P.S. The Friday night afterparty band is 3rDegree, who will astound you as well.

Most of you now know that an amazing series of events put KE on the main stage at ROSfest as well as at Terra Incognita. It was an amazing couple of weeks but we're back to earth now i think. I should have been here back in May. But, I hope this little bit of video will entertain you as we head into July. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfOR1JvmPlk We are back in rehearsal for a live show "An Evening with KE" which will include a set of classic prog cover songs and another set of material from Travelog and Powered by Light. We are giving one of our previous candidates another shot to see if he will work out as a lead vocalist on a permanent basis. I'll keep you posted.

Yes, KE buffs, we have invited St. John Coleman to join us as our permanent lead vocalist. He is the lead vocalist with prog/classic rock tribute group DEJA of the Norfolk VA region, and will not be resigning from DEJA, so you can still see their awesome tributes with St. John handling the vocals. He is very excited to be joining us and helping us put together our "An Evening with Kinetic Element" show besides working with us on the music for our next CD release. We are shooting for getting out of The Garage in September.St.John Coleman #1.jpg You can hear John with DEJA here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzhdMx-A9ig [https://www.youtube.com/watch%3fv%3d...fs_hackersafe]

Well! In the middle of all this political banter I have some great news. Kinetic Element will be appearing at Ashland Coffee & Tea in Ashland VA (just north of Richmond) on Friday January 20, 2017. We anticipate having our friends Brave with us to open the show. It will be a $10 admission and we're looking at a three-hour show starting at 7:30, with Brave for one hour, a break, and Kinetic Element for 90 minutes or maybe a little longer. If you are among our Richmond area friends or even DC to Raleigh please come on out for an evening of some pretty damn good prog rock. step0003.jpg
