I used to have the quadraphonic 8-track version of this back in the day.
Couldn't they see fit to include that in this uber package as well? SW couldn't touch that.

I'm a fan, so I'm going to take it. To hear some unreleased music from War Child sessions must be a treat.

I can't believe there's anything still unreleased from JT's catalogue. This sounds interesting.

Progholio, according to the link above, a flat transfer of the original quadrophonic version in 4.0 IS included - is that different from the mix you had on your 8-track?

Very good. This will turn into a nice series. I'm already eagerly awaiting Minstrel, Songs, Heavy and maybe even Stormwatch in similar packages. And no doubt a big live-box called 'The Road To The Third Hoorah' or something like that

Sadly this seems to be Ian's way of making money off of the old albums. Reissues are all the rage since bands can't seem to be able to produce material like they used to back in the 70's. Does anyone know how well Ian's solo discs have been doing in the market?

It's sad that he's licensing his work while continuing to create new music and tour it? The reissues are meant for people who don't already have the albums, or those who are curious, not for people who have previous editions and are perfectly satisfied.

Probably, it just won't be the same with out the "KA-Cunk" sound it makes when the machine switches tracks in the middle of Back Door Angels

Damn new Tull fans! All they deserve is the same old versions we have!

Well, who doesn't enjoy a good Ian Anderson milking...?

The new Theatre Edition unearths a trio of unreleased recordings: “Tomorrow Was Today,” “Good Godmother,” and a different arrangement of “WarChild” recorded after the version on the final album.
And besides of that, 10 orchestral pieces! That Jethro Tull is really a thrifty guy!)

I just don't see new Tull fans spending the money for these sets, that's all. These are for the established fans who want everything they can get from the old catalogue.

Awesome. Can't wait. 1974 has gone from one of tulls weakest years of the 70s in the studio (original 11 song release) to one of their strongest once this is released. Hope they include March the mad scientist and beaches part 1 and 2

This was probably the most prolific time in Ian's career which is saying something since all of the music that was recorded has been released as bonus tracks and there still seems to be unreleased stuff out there. The Chateau tapes, A Passion Play and WarChild were all connected in some way and there's plenty of extras to boot also. I wish he wouldn't have used so much accordion though.

I'm stoked! Particularly for the unreleased pieces.

@mkeneally - did you ever get your hands on the APP box? If so, what did you think?
