Pain of Salvation North American Tour

Pain of Salvation has been on my bucket list for years! I was supposed to see them as an opening act for Dream Theater's Progressive Nation tour one year, but due to finances both PoS and Beardfish had to pull out (much to my disappointment). But, finally, tomorrow night is the night! This tour focuses on older material, which is great news for me as I'm a much bigger fan of their older stuff than the newer stuff. I can't wait to see them.

Is anyone else seeing (or seen) this tour?

You've still go plenty of time to drive to Toronto for tomorrow's show.

I've never heard of them, but someone posted a video of them from Wednesday's show on Facebook. They sounded pretty good.

And then there's this video of People Passing By from the fantastic Entropia. From the same show.

Saw them last Sunday at Empire in VA. Damn good, as usual. It was nice to see them this year with the full band and Daniel not being sick as a dog.

Road trip to Chicago on Sunday. Saw them short handed at Rosfest last year, and w/o Daniel on the cruise earlier this year.
I am stoked to finally see them at full strength.

Saw them early in the week. Absolutely fantastic show. I was worried they would play a flood of new stuff but only one song from Road Salt 2, the rest from earlier, sometimes much earlier.

You're in for a great night methinks.
Please don't ask questions, just use google.

That makes me happy. I was listening to One Hour By The Concrete Lake today, and Entropia yesterday. Such great albums!

Fantastic show tonight. The band was great...the venue, not so great. Very intimate, but shitty sound.

    Bucketlist Show - Check!
Putting them back on the Bucketlist to see at a better venue - Check!

In spite of the bad sound, I had a great time. Loved the show. And am really happy that I've had the chance to see them. I'll be living on this high for the next few days.

Great show in Toronto. Daniel Gildenlow is one of the most talented people in prog and an great frontman. Having the second guitarist there added a lot of muscle and made the vibe darker than it was at Rosfest. Worth the 3 hour drive.

I was a huge fan up until BE. That's where I ran away screaming I'd still love to see them live.

I made it through Be and even like many of the songs on Scarsick. But the Road Salts just don't do it for me.

I think Be was very divisive. Many of the experimental songs just captivate me.

I never gave this band the time of day, but since you're a "phan" man, I might have to investigate and see what the fuss is all about.

On BE I love 'Iter Impius' and I think that tune with all the phone messages was very moving. There's a couple other tunes that I think are cool there, but found it on the whole WAY too pretentious.

I can't get past all the preachy crap on Scarsick

Frank - Start at the beginning and work to the current releases. Like many of their counterparts, they started dark and heavy and have since mellowed.

Klonk - Standouts for me are Imago, Pluvius Aestivus (I love pianer), Diffidentia (sounds like early PoS), Vocari Dei - the moving phone message collage.

Are you the guy who was wearing the 2013 Rosfest t-shirt?
