Wow, really? Because apart from "Lucky in the Morning" and "D.O.A.", Bloodrock 2 is a heinous album, with "Sable and Pearl" being one of the worst songs ever by anybody (alongside "Jungle" from the Whirlwind Tongues album, by which time they had metamorphosed into more of a prog band). In fact, I think a lot of the perception of Bloodrock as a band that sucks comes from the fact that most people have only heard their second, worst album, owing to it containing their hit. The first album was a lot more consistent. I think apart from the two tracks mentioned above, they were tapped out of their A-material by the time of their rush-released follow-up.

Absolutely agreed. I like the first, even if it sounds like a pedestrian retread of ITCOTCK. But Keeping Up is on a whole other level. "Masquerade" is one of the forgotten classics of 70s UK prog. In fact, the whole album would be a classic, had "Critique (With Exceptions)" not been so yucky.
