I just made it through this sucker, it's been a while since I dusted this thing off. Wow. How this music is rehearsed and learned is beyond me? The guitar parts alone are really really hip - there is a tiny bit of the Fripp/Belew thing but filtered through some bizarre fuzzy and hairy concoction of some evil witches magic sludge. I'm not even sure what that means, and I'm sure you don't either. The epic "Transparent Seas (Radio Edit)" is just almost overwhelming, but it does actually have a decent flow and form to it. In some ways it's like some lost Can jam goes to Juilliard. I love the "advertisement" in it Totally over the top, but ultra-hip if you are into this math-centric aesthetic. Overall really guitar driven, and I wish there were even more textural key stuff happening, but it is in there (I just love it when they use some strange sound out of nowhere). I have some Sibelius on right now - its what the Dr. ordered at gunpoint after this thing. Dig it.
