    Yeah, its pretty insane.

Its sounds like Lalo Schifrin heavily dosed with LSD, early 70s.

Here is a link to his site/discography. I have only one other record Rose Rouge Sang (2011) which is good but not as impressive as L'enfant..... Here is an extract of his latest 2014 record Salades De Filles.

Oh yeah - this REALLY good. Wow- another gem from the golden era that is 1972. So much depth and stylistic variety here. Consider me a big fan that will only get bigger as I become more familiar

If you want only one album from Serge Gainsbourg, make sure it's "L'histoire de Melody Nelson"... (i put a YT vid of the album on page 1)

That's about as prog as he ever got, and usually sits in everyone's top5 list from SG
my music collection increased tenfolds when I switched from drug-addicts to complete nutcases.

Oh yeah, have this (for years now). I prefer my scratchy vinyl rip to the CD to be honest.

Its been a while, but it was the overall vibe I guess. Its like hearing it when it originally came out way back when. There are just some albums that sound "right" when you hear it, can't really place your finger on it, but your gut tells you "Yeah man......yeah man......[burp]."

Mike Patton ORCHESTRAL BALLADS WITH JEAN-CLAUDE VANNIER
The second project that we’re now expecting from Patton is an album of Orchestral Ballads. We expect that this will be almost a mix between the styles of Patton’s Mondo Cane and Lovage. Patton has been collaborating with French composer Jean-Claude Vannier, who worked with Serge Gainsbourg on his 1971 concept album Histoire de Melody Nelson.
Describing the album as “Very, very lush,” Patton says he’s “doing a lot of crooning in different languages, and the instrumentation is all over the map.” And when asked if the album will it contain Gainsbourg’s signature sexy lyrics “There are plenty of those, don’t worry,” Patton said. “They just don’t sound so sexy in English.”
