Anima Mundi's new album, "Insomnia", is due out soon. In a year with a dearth of good new releases, I'll be sleepless until I get my hands on this one.
I just learned that one of the best prog bands in the world today, Anima Mundi, will release a new album, "Insomnia", on October 8. Very exciting news, especially condsidering the dearth of great...
Been waiting years for this release. Listened to CD 1 and it's very good. Have a long way to go to accurately assess.
Another fine album from Mystery. Not as good as Delusion Rain, but not far behind.
Has nobody mentioned the great keyboardist of Anima Mundi, Virginia Peraza?
After 2 lousy albums I'm still hopeful they will return to form with Double Vision. If it's anything close to The Visitor(their best album), it will be a pleasant surprise.
Chiming in late, count me among the group that finds Hammill's vocals intolerable. And regardless of how good the music is, I will never be a fan because of that reason.
My first impression of this was "oh, it's another good Wobbler album". Then with each successive listen, I liked it better and better. I now think this is their best album. I like the contrast...
Got mine this morning. Listened on the 40 mile commute. Sounds great! Now the dilemma is to put it in my IQ collection or my Christmas collection(right next to Josh Groban). |)
Got my shipping email on the 4th. So hopefully will arrive soon here.
Very sad to hear. I met Ray(and the rest of the band) at a party around 20 years ago during their Vegas stint at Caesars. A class act and one of the great voices of the Moodies. RIP.
Damn, I ordered the same time as everyone else, and I haven't even gotten an Email!
I like the Peter Green version of FM. Never much cared for the Nicks-Buckingham version. Anyway, my wife is a big fan so I agreed to accompany her to the 1997 concert at the MGM in Las Vegas. And I...
Oh, that was a good movie!
We watched mother! earlier tonight and that was really a weird ass movie, but we liked it. The problem was, every time I saw Javier Bardem, all I could see was his...
Year of the Cat- Al Stewart
People Are Strange- The Doors
Has anyone seen mother! with Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem? I'm thinking of renting it on Google Play. Any input?
1. Cellar Noise- Alight
2. Isproject- The Archinauts
3. Comedy of Errors- House of the Mind
Honorable mention- Believe, Anubis, Silhouette, Alan Reed, Wobbler, Monarch Trail, TNNE.
Surprising...
Any ballpark estimate of delivery time?
I just saw this and figured I'd be too late, but they still had it, so I got one too! A nice Christmas gift to myself. My favorite band of this millenium.
I want this!!!!!!
In spite of the interruptions, I thought it was an excellent show. I haven't seen the Moodies live since the late 90's, when Ray Thomas was still with them. And although Ray is missed, the rest of...
Can't believe I forgot this one. Their first of 3 great albums.
I actually like FGTR, but I should have qualified my statement as "worst of the PG prog era".
Believe, one of the best of the Polish prog bands, and an offshoot of the great Collage, has released what may be their best album, "Seven Widows".

IMO both discs are mediocre. The worst of the PG era.
One I can think of is Morphelia's Waken the Nightmare. What happened to them anyway?
Not only do I not own a DVR, I still use my VCR and VHS tapes! Also, I still use my Fisher stereo system that I bought in the 1980's. If that's not enough, I use my 1980 Hitachi CRT TV which still...
These 3 for sure, plus:
Knight Area- Under A New Sign
Satellite- Into the Night
I'll be watching Wednesday night here. Thanks for the info.
Great footage. I would love to see video of Yes' opening act performance at Cream's farewell concert. I don't think any exists, or does it?
The Visitor is their best album. Immortal? only slightly behind. Anyway I see no room for improvement on the original. And since their last 2 bad albums have abandoned their progressive tradition,...
GO Catholics!
Drifting Sun made my top 10 in both 2015 and 2016. Not really familiar with this year's release. Need to listen. Anyway, this is a really unusual year for me, as it's rare that I will pick an Italian...

Notre Dame blows out USC 49-14. A beautiful thing.
In total agreement about "Dark and Stormy Night". A great album. Any news on the band? Will there be another album? I hope so.
Season 1 was excellent. Episode 3 of season 2 airs tonight.

TNNE(The No Name Experience) is a band out of Luxembourg that has been around for over 20 years. Formerly known as "No Name", they have released quite a few very good albums. Their new album...
These are the ones on my radar. Hopefully sooner than later. Any more info?
Genesis was my favorite band during the 70's and is still my favorite 70's band. As for me, ATTWT is the last Genesis album I like a lot. I thought back then that Duke was a disappointment, and I...
That was excellent. Will have to check out more from this one.
I'll take that over Yankees-Dodgers any day!
Mike Trout hit his 200th career homer last night. He became only the 5th player in MLB history to get 1,000 hits and 200 HR's by their age 25 season. Can you imagine what this guy would do in a more...
The TV series inspired by the greatest horror movie of all time returns tonight. Yes, it's The Exorcist season 2. Season 1 was great.
Silhouette's new album is out, and it is excellent.

My main interest in that list is to find out if Kiefer will ever return as Jack Bauer.
I like these 3 albums quite a bit as well. I would also like to add:
Cellar Noise- Alight This is not only one of the best albums of the year, but also one of the best debut albums in recent...
Jordsjo has a new album, "Jord", and it is quite good. They have a retro sound reminiscent of Hybris era Anglagard with flute and mellotron featured prominently. The album is short, only 37 minutes,...
Introitus
Karnataka
La Tulipe Noire
Seven Reizh
Agree. A good band and Wanderer is their best album. I was not enthralled with Clockwork Fable. Just too long for me.
Anima Mundi- The Way
Cellar Noise- Alight
Comedy of Errors- Fanfare and Fantasy
Hostsonaten- Rime of the Ancient mariner
Introitus- Elements
IQ- The Road of Bones
Kyros- Vox Humana
La Maschera...
I agree that Arena's last 2 albums are forgettable hard rock. And I'm not too hopeful that the new one will be a return to form. Maybe they will surprise me.
As for Pallas, I too miss Alan Reed...
American Horror Story returns this week with season 7's "Cult". I am really hoping for a return to form after the extremely disappointing "Roanoke" last year.
My favorite current guitarist is Roberto Diaz from Anima Mundi.
As of today, August 30, "Sand" is the #1 rated album on PA for 2017. There are several stellar reviews. Take a look.
...
I hate country music but I always liked Glen. I still remember his appearance(s) on the Smothers Brothers in the 60's. RIP.
Thanks for the heads up on this one. Their last album a few years ago was excellent, as were their previous releases as No Name.
I've listened through twice now. Great album! Definitely a contender for album of the year.
I've been busy moving, so I finally got around to buying the mp3 album from Amazon(hope you get your share, Ken). The wife's been bugging me to fix up the new house, but hopefully I'll get around to...
